    Pretty little amp with substance

The mini amp is a fun little amp with decent sound. It’s stylish and handy to bring anywhere. It has an overdrive level dial as well as tone. Only downside is the type of battery it uses 9v. Would have been perfect if it used AA since i have a bunch of rechargeable ones laying around but i understand why it needs the 9v. I have it set at low to medium most times as the volume is loud enough esp at higher levels for a medium sized room.

    Great little Amp!

Bought this for our son to use to play his electric guitar. We were going to be traveling in our motorhome for a few weeks and didn’t want to carry around a big amp. I had this amp delivered to an Amazon locker near our campground in Orlando. I was surprised by the sound. It’s not a professional amp so don’t expect top sound quality, but this little thing rocks! The old school look is really cute, too! It’s the perfect size for us to store in our motorhome and it sounds great for a mini amp.

This thing is loud, for its size it absolutely kicks!

With a good reverb and tone, this little thing will play clean and smooth. Mess with the knobs and you can overdrive some serious crunch. The little amp has the ability to pick up high “E” on a mash or slide. So if you like finger tapping, high solos, you’ll love this thing.

I am happy with this guy. I can see my son and me going out Jammin on a walk. Yeah, got him one for Christmas. Git-cha self one. You’ll enjoy it. AC&DC powered. Purchase an AC TO DC adapter (Transformer).Does come with a battery, but everyone knows it’s best to plug in.

So small, but lots of volume.

The amp works well with stringed instruments. I have not tried it with a mic, but love what it does with my hammered dulcimer. I bought the A.C. adapter to go with it. The 9 volt battery seems to work for a long time, but I love having the adapter. This is my second one of these amps. The amps are really durable.the first one still works good, but I wanted a backup.

    High Quality Mini Amp—Good Value—Recommend

Darn nice sound for a mini-amp, plenty of volume as well. I‘ve been using it with an external piezo pickup when I play one of my dulcimers. I also use it with my lap steel guitar. It performs as well with either instrument and type of pickup. It’s the quality I expect from Danelectro. A good value for the price.

    Great for the price

Of course I didn’t expected this to deliver a cristal clear sound, but it really sounds good and the volume output is good. I bought this to be used with an acoustic guitar so I was a little bit concerned since there where no reviews on acoustic guitars.I tried all recommended settings and I found a couple that worked quite fine.Overall, this is a nice looking Amp and delivers nice sound for the price.

    Works well for the money

Portable, batter or plug in with adapter purchase, has a headphone jack, inexpensive. Sounds really tinny through the speaker, but it’s tiny so you should be expecting that anyway. The headphones sound good, and it’s nice to have the option when you are packing light.

Nice little amp..but buy an adapter.

Powerful enough for what I need it for…but it is a battery VAMPIRE. Sucks the juice right out of it. Have to replace battery after only about 2 hours of practice time.

    LOUD yet portable!

I bought a power adapter per the specs provided in the manual immediately after I tested it out with a battery for a couple of hours. The sound went in and out and was a bit unpredictable on the battery. On the adapter though, this little thing gets LOUD and stays loud! It can fill up a room easily! I also love its portability!

    Awesome little practice amp

I love this little thing! I bought it with a specific use in mind: It will sit on my end table, within arms reach of me, my guitar and a short guitar cable, for when I feel like noodling a little bit, but don’t feel like plugging in through my pedalboard and main amp. And for that purpose, it’s perfect. It looks nice sitting there, it’s simple to operate, and sounds good. This is a great little practice amp. PRACTICE AMP. I see several negative reviews that it’s not loud enough. This is a practice amp! It’s 20 bucks. Do you really expect to keep up with the band on a 20 dollar plastic practice amp? Read the description. It is what it is. As far as the complaints about it clipping, I had that problem at first as well. Playing chords, it sounded like a really heavy fuzz, and playing single notes, it would cut out intermittently. I replaced the battery with a new one, and the clipping stopped immediately. That kinda sucks, because the included Danelectro battery is cool looking, but I don’t feel it’s anything worth crying about. I’m guessing these amps have been sitting on a shelf for quite some time. Those cute little 9V batteries that come with it, like all alkaline batteries, have a shelf life. I haven’t tried it with a 9V power supply, and honestly, I have no intentions to do so. I’m quite impressed, and I would recommend this little beast to anyone else who is looking for a really small practice amp.

    Fun Fun Fun Amp

This tiny little amp is great for practicing outside or in a canoe or while hang gliding. But it is not very good at parties. it cannot compete with the noise level that 20 people in conversation can make. It is cheap, so you should just get one. I am having great fun experimenting around with different settings, instruments, and power feed voltage levels. (see the danelectro power supply for this thing, really cool!)

    Get your groove on

Soon as i got it plugged in, it is exactly as advertised, i use an old digitech r90, and its got the sound man! Its not going to blow any doors off but thats not what its about. Its a portable practice amp to help flesh out ideas, or make some side money in the busk tip.Cool retro color, solid construction, material doesnt feel cheap. And for the price, where you really going wrong at?Even at loud volumes, minimal noise, very clean, or dirty depending on how you set it, the options are pretty unlimited. Now foe the test of time, but for me, if it lasts over a month, ive gotten my moneys worth, but i see it hanging in there for a while anyway. Ill let ya knowNovember 24, 2021Still going strong with fairly odd( hahahah) practice times but still a solid little amp!No it’s not a Marshall so get your head outta the clouds but this thing IS a freakin beast son! Perfectly Portable, Extreme Value

Wanted to get a micro amp to travel with so my ukulele would not be drowned out by the volume of guitars when I see my brother or during late night jam sessions if my crewmates and I have time before turning in at the fire house. This turns out to be perfect: 1) easy to pack along anywhere, 2) affordable, 3) not fancy (i.e., fancy and powerful is not what I’m looking for, I just want something to increase the volume of my uke in these sessions).I’m using this with a K&K Big Island Spot pickup that I had installed in my Kala solid acacia tenor (Kala item KA-SA-T…that’s my home uke) and then I put a Hartwood HW-EQ-2 preamp in my super-cheap Kmise tenor that I have at the fire house as my beat-about uke. This micro-amp works great with both pickups and if you’re just looking for a little more volume like I was for my jam sessions with others on guitar, or if you just want to experiment with electrifying your acoustic instrument, then you absolutely cannot go wrong with this little guy.I did go ahead and splurge for the Snark AC adapter that is specifically recommended by the manufacturer because I don’t want to have to rely on battery power. Also, I bought two cables a long and a short. The battery power and the short 1′ cable allows me to be fully mobile walking around the fire station annoying my crewmates.Photos show me plugged in with the amp on the belt of my shorts and plugged in to my Kala.

    good for the money

I wasn’t to impressed with this but it is a small amp so as I don’t know much about amps I am sure if we would have gotten a more expensive or bigger rig for her then it probably wouldn’t sound so static like. But it does sound like that so just fyi you have to listen to it with head phones. My husband who knows a ton about guitar’s said it was a very good buy for your money, and if you were getting it for a child well that is probably not going to be their first one.

Solid. More Fun then For Real.

I know it doesn’t say anything about a bass amp, but I thought I would try my luck. Aside from about 0 bass tone, it has constant distortion. If I was a bluesy guitarist this amp would be about perfect for a cheaper option with decent volume and tone. I like Danelectro, and this is an awesome toy. Fun for a bass amp, but no bass tone. The battery did start to fade very quickly, and the volume suffered with it, but that is a lot of wattage too push fora small 9V battery. The clip is great too, the amp is so light, it is ideal for clipping on to your pocket and cruising around. Fun

WOW…for the money this is tops!!!

No you won’t be performing on stage with this amp but….to get your ukulele loud this is perfect. I thought I’d try it for the $20 price tag so if I was playing with a banjo or accordion I could also be heard….this is tiny-5x5x2 inches, 13 0z., and it has a clip for your pants or belt. So far I only used it on batteries, ran through the little guide they include on adjusting the tone and o’drive controls-like “clean & spanky” or “70’s solo”- which was great for blues but not classical, “Sparkle Clean” was better for classical and “early 80’s” was best for bluegrass….the sound was awesome- for just projecting your Uke out there, I don’t think you can beat this little guy, haven’t really wailed on it – yet. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a small amp to get your Ukulele loud while playing with other louder instruments, or if you just want to get some jammin’ going and have fun, for $20 you can’t loose!!!

Danelectro N10A Honey Tone Mini Amp

Very nice sounding little mini amp. A bit bigger then I expected but a nice size so you dont walk off without it. Good for taking on trips where space is at a premium. Battery life depends on how loud you play. Usally get around five hours out of mine playing it with the volume set about halfway. Ive had no problems with cutout so far but others report that they have had problems with theirs. I would recommend these little amps to anyone who is looking for a mini amp.

    Super Convenient & Affordable

This amp is lightweight and really easy to use. Main drawback is that the small speaker will start to break up and distort at too low a volume. It works best used as a headphone amp, but you need to have decent quality over the ear, closed back, headphones to get the best sound. Earbuds are only barely adequate. It’s a nice light weight that you can clip to your belt and doesn’t feel like it’s dragging you down. I recommend purchasing a 1.5 to 2 ft patch cord if you intend to clip this to your belt so that you’re not dragging around your normal length guitar cable. You can start to dial in a decent rock and roll crunch tone by setting the volume at about 30%, the drive at about 30% and adjusting the tone to get the desired clarity & bite. From there play with the volume and the drive knobs to adjust the tone to a cleaner or more overdriven sound.Just realize that it is a quiet practice amp, don’t try to push the volume too loud, or it will distort and sound like crap. It definitely takes some finesse.Replace the included Dano battery after about an hour of use, or right away if you have an extra 9V laying around. When the battery gets low, the sound quality of the amp drops off dramatically.

You get what you pay for.

You get what you pay for. This is small. This is cheep, if a noisy growling sound is what you want you will get a version of that with this. But this amp has a very pain in the donkey headphone jack. When I put the head phones in all the way there’s no sound. I have to pull the plug out 3 to 4 mm any further the amp pushes the plug out and I hear the sound in my headphones and the amp at the same time. And it will squeal if I hit just the wrong spot with the headphone jack. Lord it’s loud when it squeals. Overdrive is also a pain in the donkey. I hardly touch it and it’s on. I can’t really get a clean sound with mine. But if you want something to play blues on for funzies here’s a starting place, but I would recommend just saving your money and get an upgrade.

A great Little Amp at the Price

This is a great little amp. The clean sounds are okay but when the drive is opened up, this is when this little baby sings. She is sweet and gritty with lots of top end sustain and a voice on the edge of breaking. I would be hard put to find another practice and sitting out on the porch amp for the price. I am an ex professional musician with a degree I have not used in years, and the tone from this little baby is killer, better on single coil pups than on humbuckers as the hbs get too muddy. However if you have a guitar with P90s you are in for a great treat if you are into thick and growling runs. A Strat with this amp sounds, well – like a Strat with all the quackiness in the 2 pup settings. Another of my guitars that shines with this amp is my home built Tele. This can range from glassy, clear harmonics to rough bottleneck sounds as you run down a minor riff on the bass.If you are a beginner, buy it! If you are a pro, buy it! This is a great little portable which does far more than one would expect.

Great fun in a small package.

I have to say, I didn’t really know what to expect when ordering this little amp. It looks fun, and at the price seemed like if it sounded decent it would be fun to play with. I was pleasantly surprised by how this amp performs when hooked up to a nine volt power adapter. It gets impressively loud, but really only in the immediate direction it is pointed, so it’s great to practice with. It definitely sounds “small” in the sense that it’s quite directional, but you really can pull a great warm classic tone out of it on cleaner settings, and it produces a nice dirty sound with the gain cranked. For 20 bucks, it’s definitely fun to mess around with. I thought the “branded” 9 volt battery that matched the color of the amp was a pretty cool touch, but realistically I can’t even play the amp on battery power alone. If turned up at all the sound cuts out; you can tell the amp is just trying to pull way more power than the battery can provide. I haven’t tried replacing the battery yet, but that’s all that’s preventing this little guy from a full five stars.

Great little amp, cutest mini-amp ever!

Love this little guy. Needed something to test repair of a synth keyboard which had bad cable inside for the 5.1 outputs (headphone worked, but not the main outs)… this was perfect solution. Super cute, and sounds decent (it’s $20 folks). I only used for synth keyboard, not playing guitar so can’t speak to that, but it can run on a 9V battery or typical stomp box A/C adapter, so handy there.

This little bugger is loud! Can’t believe how much sound comes out of this cute speaker. The tone options are cool to add some distortion, although I’m using it for my ukulele, and not using the effects. Plenty of volume, comes with a battery, and fits anywhere, including on you. A whole lot of sound coming out of a tiny little amp

When I purchased this amp I expected very little in terms of volume and quality, at best I figured it would be a cheap portable amp that could barely play loud and clear enough for a small quiet room. This thing gets loud and sounds nice and clear and includes an overdrive knob which allows you to give your playing a nice vintage-styled distortion. Sure, I could nitpick here or there about minor imperfections, but for ~$20 this amp has already surpassed all of my expectations and I don’t feel like a small, nearly unnoticeable rattle is worth docking a star over.As for the portable aspect, this little guy is light weight and small so you can easily clip it to your beltline/pocket/underwear/bottom lip and walk around while you play. It looks a bit silly on me, personally, being a very broad guy standing at 6″1 with an adorable baby blue box clipped to my belt, I get a few laughs from friends but I think that really adds to the charm of it.

    A Honey of a Tone

Between the tone knob and the drive knob you can get any sound you want. It’s loud! I opened it up for a minor repair that has nothing to do with the quality and was shocked to see the 2 amp label on the speaker! This fifties aqua color is cheaper than other colors so if you don’t mind it (I love it for my cigar box 3 stringer) why pay more?

    Love this amp!

This amp may appear small, but it packs quite the punch. I have used it in practice rooms in the band room at school as well as while camping. It has a wide range of sound effect on it. You can make it sound like a clean-jazzy feel, or you can even turn the distortion up and play hard rock music. While it is not quite as great as a full amp, it definitely does have it’s advantages due to its size. You can take it pretty much anywhere.

Good for it’s intended portability and practice functions

Great for practicing… no, this wasn’t meant for performance, but at less than a pound and only about 6 inches wide by 4 inches high, it’s great for practicing on the go.The light weight is a blessing and a curse: it’s so light, it won’t stay upright by itself and gets tipped over by just the weight of my guitar cable.

Great Practice Amp for my Ukulele – Don’t Spend More!

Nice amp for my uke practicing. It would work well enough for a small group audience/room and seems to have enough power/volume for it.I had a MC-10 guitar amp that produced a lot of feedback and noise: This inexpensive little HoneyTone is clean sounding until, of course, you deliberately over-drive it.I’m using a D’Addario 9V DC power adaptor (Amazon item) that works well and saves me from buying $2.00 9V batteries.Perfect for my needs, easy to use controls. Great mini Amp

First, the vintage design is awesome and even for decorating my studio it is worthwhile to buy this stuff. Then the sound is amazingly clear and good for such a small, plastic, toy looking amp. I did not expect much out of it at first but I use it all the time now. I use it to practice at home and in the park and it is so light you can bring it with you everywhere. It is all plastic so don’t expect a rugged, undestroyable amp but the finition is good.Liftetime with battery seems pretty good. The distortion and tone settings are very nice.Good for practicing at home, playing with another guitarist or instrument. The only negative point is that it is not very well isolated from Radio Frequencies (that’s the plastic) so in some places you might hear some radio stations or noise but just move the amp around to find the best spot where you get little interference or move up the volume so your guitar stays well on top).

    Perfect.

This is perfect for the beginner and literally everyone who knows what they’re going to get.Very easy to start using it and even has a guide for adjusting the settings! The clip is great and I love the look of it. I don’t see any reason to dislike it, I’ve also definitely recommended this to friends. It’s very powerful and lasts a while on that battery, too. Haven’t had a single issue.Only cons I can think of are the looks, but that’s your choice.

This little amp is really cool. It is reasonably loud and it clips on your belt. It comes with a 9v battery or pick up a 9v300ma electric plug to plug it in. I’m using it with my PRS and it actually sounds pretty good. It has an overdrive control which is great.Probably worth the money by itself is the instruction manual which teaches you volume-tone-overdrive ideas which you can take to your regular amp to get different classic sounds.

    Worth every penny

The Danelectro Honeytone is a great value. Small, reasonably light and easy to use. It fits the bill if you’re looking for an amp to use in the living room without deafening yourself or waking the wife. For its size, the tone is pretty good, and the distortion option works fairly well. One caveat: buy an AC adapter, as this amp drains a battery quickly, and when the battery gets low the amp clips very easily. That being said, this is the best $20 I’ve spent in a long time. A great gift for that budding Stevie Vai!

    Surprisingly versatile mini amp

I bought this amplifier because I was looking for something to use with my

    Lanikai LU-21C Concert Ukulele

while jamming with someone else who plays acoustic guitar. If you ever try to play a uke with an acoustic guitar, you will get drowned out. A uke by itself is just not loud enough. After reading some reviews here on Amazon, this amp looked like the right option for me. So I purchased this with a

Tyler Mountain Electric Transducer Pickup for Acoustic Stringed Instruments

. It turns out that I stumbled across the perfect combination. It reproduced my uke, both chords and notes, very clean and MUCH louder than I expected. If you turn it up too loud it will distort, of course. But my goals were definitely met. After hearing an amazing crystal clean ukulele tone, I wanted to see what else this little amp was capable of. So I plugged in my

Epiphone Dot Archtop Electric Guitar, Ebony

with low expectations. I just wanted to play around with the overdrive/tone dials a bit more. This amp will sound a little muddy if you are playing fuller, open chords on an electric guitar with the overdrive cranked; but WOW, if you play some lead guitar it can reproduce amazing dirty bluesy tones! It really howls.I showed this fun little amp to my dad, also a guitar player. First he laughed at the thing because it looks like an toy. I’m not sure yet if I want to call this a toy, but I have to admit, if it were a little smaller they could cram this into a happy meal. Anyway, I plugged in my Epiphone Dot, turned the overdrive up, and played the intro to Rocky Mountain Way. His jaw dropped. I suppose this “toy” has redeemed itself. It doesn’t have the headroom of a full-size amp (duh!), but this is the best $20 I’ve spent in a long time. Nearly a sonic miracle. I got way more than I bargained for with this tiny amp, considering I only bought it to give my uke a slight boost. I took away one star because of the somewhat-muddy tones when playing full, open chords on an electric guitar. And I feel guilty for taking that star away. It is truly amazing.

With a good reverb and tone, this little thing will play clean and smooth. Mess with the knobs and you can overdrive some serious crunch. The little amp has the ability to pick up high “E” on a mash or slide. So if you like finger tapping, high solos, you’ll love this thing.

    nice 4 the price

I wanted to love the little Honeytone, and I do. It sounds great and it is nice and loud. The overdrive gives nice distortion and quite a bit of re-verb. It plays a long time on rechargeable batteries or on a battery that I get 2 for a dollar at the dollar store. The bad is, that after I had it a short time the gain would kick in and out even though the knob was all the way down and I never even touched it. I could work around the problem by wiggling the gain knob before I played. I took off the knob and sprayed it liberally with contact cleaner. (a can of cleaner cost almost as much as the amp itself.) It seems fine now.

Perfect amp for traveling with a solid body electric uke

I take my solid body electric uke with me when I’m traveling – I can stow it in my carry-on in a soft case without fear of the uke being damaged or crushed (I travel with my acoustic ukes in hard cases – pretty bulky.)The solid body doesn’t project on its own (has to be amplifed), so I needed a small yet good quality amp and the Danoelectro fits the bill perfectly. I was even ready to pay a higher price, but no need. This little amp gives you a major bang for your buck! The sound is surprisingly good for an amp this small and inexpensive. The uke and amp take up little room so I can have them always with me, ready to play when I want to, especially when killing time due to a flight delay or late night in a hotel room. The volume control and headphone jack enable me to write, practice, or just noodle around without annoying my fellow travelers (this would not be the case with an acoustic uke).Although I love to play my uke on the beach, I don’t like to bring my acoustics – too much risk of the salt, moisture, and sand ruining the instrument. I don’t have that fear with the solid body and this amp makes it a perfect beach instrument.Although the travel portability was my initial need for this amp, I’ve found other applications for which it’s perfectly suited. I recently started doing volunteer performances at hospitals, going room to room, playing for patients and their families. You can’t really wheel around an amp in this venue, so I played my acoustic ukes at first. But hooking this little amp onto my belt loop and plugging in my solid body electric uke gives me more options, like enabling me to turn the volume down low if I’m playing for a sleepy baby. When performing live, I play through a

Bose L1 Model II Single Bass with ToneMatch Audio Engine

, but this amp also lets me be more mobile and spontaneous during my performance. In a suitable venue, I can step off the stage and roam around with my uke and amp, engaging the audience one-to-one. Mobile entertainment! So many possibilities for this little amp… I highly recommend it!

    Tiny little box of magic

Aside from the adorable vintage and clean mint look, this little amp does wonders. It is very tiny (I can hold it with one palm), but it delivers a lot more power and sound than you would initially expect for an amp this small.I power mine with an adaptor and plug it in with a separate guitar cable. The controls are simple as there are only three knobs on top: On/Off Volume, Tone and Overdrive. It also comes with a little booklet with knob adjustments to create different sounds if you want that clean tone, heavy overdrive, country twang or rock ‘n’ roll inspired sounds. It’s definitely a LOT of fun to play and mess around with, though I wouldn’t use it to perform with. It also comes with a neat headphone jack if you want to listen quietly and play your tunes without disturbing roommates or neighbors, which I find helpful. But, don’t expect this to be something nice to perform with as it can deliver fuzzy sounds. Though, for the inexpensive price and ease of transport, it’s fun to jam with if you’re not looking for an entirely impressive sound to accompany high-end performances. Lovely amp and glad to have made this my first practice amp!I recorded a test video of my using this amp here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5m-v1MJpILw

    Sweet as, you know, Honey

My HoneyTone arrived yesterday. I bought it for a giggle, because for $20 why not? Pulled it out of the box and admired its face, right out of a ’55 Chevy BelAir, then popped the battery lid and was amused by the custom-labelled 9v. Can I buy more of those?I wasn’t prepared for what happened when I plugged it in: It sounds… GOOD. I mean, really good! And loud enough to annoy my family, so that’s a win. I put on some headphones and enjoyed the sounds for a bit, then grabbed a patch cord and plugged it into my laptop running Guitarix. Oh, man, this toy will run Guitarix!I’ve probably put two hours or so on it in the last 18 hours, and plan to do that again this afternoon. This was $20 well spent. Thanks, DanElectro!

    Great practice amp for beginners

The media could not be loaded.

I am NOT a guitarist, I’m a vocalist, so my knowledge of guitar accessories is limited at best. That said, I got this for my daughter who is learning to play. It’s a great size, and has a handle belt clip as well. It comes with an instruction sheet that shows how to adjust the tone and gain for different type of sounds. It gets quite loud for its size without losing sound quality or distorting. On the flip side, even at low volumes (like in the video, the sound is clear and crisp. It’s a great space saving amp and even comes with a 9V battery! The only downside is that it didn’t come with the power supply, however the manual does give specifics of what to get if you choose to go that route. We also tried it with an electric bass and the sound was rather good there – I’ll probable get a second one just for the that. Definitely well worth the cost!! You can’t beat it.

Hard to beat for the price

If you are getting this amp only for portable practice and just want to hear what you are playing and do not care if it sounds great then you will be happy with this little amp. It sounds surprisingly good for twenty bucks. I said good, not loud. Loud enough, yes. I suggest buying a power brick so you can plug it in for daily home use because the batteries only last for about five hours of playing time. This is a great little amp for camping, a quick lesson, or going to a friends house for a little jamming etc.. If you keep your expectations reasonable you will be pleased. I doubt you’ll find a better amp for $20

I’ll start by saying my main instrument is bass. Bought this to practice with while traveling. If you’re buying it for bass and are looking to do anything more than simply make your bass audible, this ain’t the amp. It works fine at super low volumes, can even handle a low B, but I’m talking almost whisper quietly. If you put any volume behind it, it immediately starts distorting. Can make yer electric bass almost as loud as an unplugged acoustic, but that might even be pushing it.If you’re buying this for guitar, I think you’ll be blown away. This tiny thing is loud. Loud enough to piss off the neighbors. I don’t think you’ll find a louder better sounding amp at this price. I owned another almost identical amp from a different company many years ago, and there is no comparison. You can get some awesome clean, and overdriven sounds. Don’t expect to do a full band rehearsal with it, but for bedroom jamming, practicing alone, or riffing out in the park with a couple of acoustics I think you’ll be happy with this purchase. Looks super cool also, and as I believe someone else said – “the wife loved it too!” Even lets it sit out on the bookcase in the living room.Truth is at this price even if the amp didn’t work at all, I’d keep it as a nifty looking paperweight.

    Great practice amp

Just received this amp today and have been playing it for awhile. The sound quality is good enough for practicing and I was shocked at how loud the little thing could get. Remember, this is a $20 amp so if you’re looking for great quality, invest in a good amp and don’t complain that the sound on this is terrible because this was meant for practicing and not performing. It sure is going to save me a lot of time and patience bringing this instead of my heavy crate twin to my guitar students’ places every time. The battery that came with it ran out of juice after about ten minutes of play (don’t know if it was the off brand battery or not), but then I plugged my boss pedal 9v adapter into it and it worked just fine. (make sure the polarity is correct). Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and will vouch that it is worth the 20 bucks invested.

    Great tiny amp with character

I’ve seen these little amps for a while, and decided $36 was cheap enough to take a try.Very pleased with it. Good solid sound, with some interesting sonic character. And louder than you’d expect, those 5 watts crank out a bunch of sound. When you turn up your guitar volume it distorts ina pleasing way. Some odd harmonics, but I general very good.I did have to switch from the supplied battery to an external 9v supply, pushing it hard caused output to sag very low. I’ll try it with a different battery. If you’d like to see my demo, search YouTube for “C.K. tries a tiny honeytone practice amp”.

    Pocket powerhouse

The factory battery is cute but doesn’t last long. Plugged into an adapter or with a good alkaline this thing really rocks for its size. Perfect for an apartment and practicing. Even when running a looper, the sound quality is pretty good. It gets a little noisy at high gain and volume but messing with the knobs can ease a little of that pain. It is a little light in weight and if set on the floor, the angle of a good heavy cable makes it top heavy and it can fall over. This little amp was well worth the $21 paid.

Surprisingly good for its size, but eats batteries for breakfast

I REALLY like this little guy. In my experience it’s the best bang for your buck in the mini amp / speaker world. It was perfect for me as a beginner electric guitarist, and I still use it to practice while traveling or when I want to play outside without dragging my bigger speakers around.ProsSurprising variability in sound with the included controlsTiny and lightweight, easily fits in a guitar case or backpackFeels well crafted and sturdyIncluded belt loop works greatThe color and aesthetic perfectly match my Yamaha Pacifica guitar (sonic blue color)I’ve had mine for 3 years and it’s still going strong, though admittedly I don’t use it every day (or even every month)ConsThe sound is fantastic for what it is, but is obviously a lot shallower than a larger and more robust speakerEats batteries like candy, even when not in use. I recommend removing the batteries whenever you’re not actively using them.

    WTF NOT?

Disclaimer: I am not a professional musician. I am not an audiophile.Sarcastic comment: If I were either of those, I wouldn’t be buying a $20 amp.For the Fathers:I am a father of a toddler. Both my wife and I work. We have a small duplex. I needed an amp that I could have fun with while not bothering either of them too much. For the money, this lil’ amp is awesome, and the first thing my wife said when she saw it was “Oh, that’s cute.” GOLDEN! She likes how it looks so it’s no problem. Hey, I’m not henpecked at all, but having her actually like something about it goes a long way.For those who are closet musicians:I am around music and musicians quite often as my brother in law is in a band that I help out with from time to time. Considering the price and size,I can’t believe the sound. Yes, the plastic feels like plastic, blah, blah, blah. What did you expect? What do you want for $20??!!! It is fun, it is portable, and a child could operate it. It is definitely loud enough and provides enough manipulation with the tone and overdrive to replicate a surprising number of guitar styles. No, you’re not going on tour with this. No, you’re not going to get David Gilmour’s exact pitch. So what? Have some fun and save some space in your house at the same time.

Value and Sound Quality in a Compact Format

Great sound, totally portable, and pretty rugged. I build 3 string guitars and do events to sell my guitars, this is the amp I use. It is loud enough, has a great sound, and uses a 9v battery, so for me it is perfect. I’ve had it dropped 4 times from my “demo table” onto concrete, and not a scratch or crack. At home, my wife says, “Turn it down” and I have the volume at maybe 15 percent. Maybe not as high fidelity as my 115v 15W amp, but I love this thing. The built in overdrive is awesome, too.

This is great if you know what you’re getting into

A friend just asked me what amp I’m using while giving me advice, and I was more than a little embarrassed to admit that this thing is my amp. That said, it’s a great little product. Super small and lightweight. Big sound. It’s not great for effects but if you just want to amplify your sound or connect your phone for recording it does the job. I slip it in a drawer in my camper for trips or my bike basket for playing in the park and I’m set. Great battery life. And it’s got enough range to work for both my guitar and my bass.If you’re on the fence I’d say go for it. For twenty bucks you can’t beat this little guy.

    Awesome little amp

After reading numerous reviews talking about the exceptional volume and tone of this amp, for the price (about $16-$17) I had to try it.When I plugged my acoustic into this, I was very pleased to find those reviews are accurate. First, let’s not expect $500 double 15″ sound from a portable 9v amp. Once that reality is recognized, this puts out far better sound than one would ever expect from an amp this size and price. (Later edit: As a result I’ve bought several of them as “guts” for hand-made, specialized amps.)Of course the sound you get out of this amp– as with any amp– will be directly relational to the quality of guitar and pickup you’re feeding from. I tried this on three different guitars and each one sounded significantly different. One had very rich tone, another sounded “tinny”, another had a passive pickup and required I turn the HoneyTune up quite a bit more than the one with active pickup. So it won’t sound the same on every guitar. Passive pickups will require a preamp device to achieve any volume. If your guitar has good tone and your pickup is good, this amp is simply awesome. My sister visited and heard it right after I opened the box, and she was impressed as well. Neither of us expected this kind of sound from such a small amp. And I have to say, the aqua color is major retro. Gotta luv it.I’ve been looking for “the” portable amp for some time. This is the best I’ve found to date and the value for price is a perfect balance. I don’t know as I’d pay the $40-$50 for this guitar shops often ask, but the Amazon price is perfect. : )Danelectro branded 9v battery included, same color as the amp.

    Talk about LOUD

Super simple operation, as it only has three knobs; power/volume, tone, and overdrive.Barely even know it’s on you if worn on a belt or pants pocket, aside from all the sound pouring out!Works great with included 9v battery. I’ve not used it much with everything turned up to max. I’m sure that would deplete the battery pretty quickly. As of this review I have played around, with this amp, on four or five occasions. Still using the same battery!

Great lil’ portable practice amp!

Been using this sweet little mini-amp for a few months now, and really like the tone it puts out – from overdriven to clean and in between, it lets you choose from a wide spectrum. Headphone jack is a real plus if you don’t want to disturb others, and you just can’t beat the vintage look. Get yourself an a/c adapter, as the 9v batt gets eaten up in no time (I’m using one of those cheap universal a/c adapters…just make sure yours has the same 9v spec and same connector tip configuration as required). Great deal for the price!

Not a bad little practice amp

So far so good. The amplifier works perfectly with both my acoustic electric guitar and ukulele. The sound is loud for such a small amplifier. I’ve seen other reviews where people have complained about power drop-outs, but considering that this only runs off of a single 9-volt battery and it’s cranking out quite a bit of volume it’s probably going to drain the battery pretty fast if you use it continuously.I’m not ready yet to purchase a good quality Fender or Fishman amp. For me this is just something for playing around with. For the $20 that I spent, it does the trick. If it dies later on down the road I’m not out that much money to begin with.If you want a cheap practice amp, this one isn’t too bad. If you’re going to be playing for hours on end, buy the external power supply so you don’t have to keep putting expensive 9-volt batteries in it every time you turn around, it’ll pay for itself after a couple of battery changes.

    Great for Kalimba too

I purchased this (and a stick on pick up) for use with a Kalimba but this would be great with any instrument. My son already had an expensive amplifier, guitars, banjolele, ukuleles etc. but he really liked the idea of the portability and novelty of this little bitty amp. This is a great thing to grab when you decide you want to just grab your instrument last minute when you’re running out of the door and don’t necessarily want to pack up everything. It made a great gift and was well received. The price is great. I was hesitant about this because this is battery operated and has no cord but the battery really seems to last for a good long time after a lot of playing. Was my review helpful?

    Amazing for the size/cost

Amazing for the size/cost. It is a practice amp, and is perfect for that job. Very small – just about 6″x6″x3″ or so (check the details above), small enough to fit in a backpack pocket, under a car seat, even in the glove box, though that may not be the best place to store it. The volume is good. I haven’t and never will play it at full volume because it gets loud enough for solo practice at ~1/3. The tone is fine, a little distorted but well within the range of what people want and use. I have not tried it with effects pedals.

    Worth the money

As a bassist who uses a guitar for occassional home recording and songwriting, I don’t need a large heavy amplifier; I really need an amp that sounds good on a desktop, doesn’t wake up the neighbors, and is mobile. This Danelectro Honeytone amp does all of that, plus it runs on a 9V battery or an AC adaptor and has a beltclip so you can wander around with your guitar, play outdoors, etc. I tried one out in a music store and decided I wanted one, but to get the cool Aqua color I had to order online. It has a very retro look to it and the case is made of very sturdy plastic. Controls consist of on/off/volume, tone, and drive knobs. If you leave the drive off and crank the volume to max, you can control the distortion using the volume knob on your guitar. If you want distortion at lower volumes use the drive knob. Crank both knobs and the thing gets pretty loud and dirty. There is a single 1/4″ input jack, a 1/8″ headphone jack, and a jack for an external 9V power supply. You could run this off your pedal board’s power supply. The sound of this thing is way better than I expected from a 30-dollar amplifier, and so is the build quality. The only downside was that it came with a Danelectro-labeled 9V battery that was almost dead; I imagine it had been sitting in a warehouse somewhere for quite some time. It’s actually a really cool looking battery with a aqua case and a Danelectro logo on it.

Great for on the go play

be advised to change the battery out to a duracell, but other than that, after toying with the gain and tone you can get some quality sound off this little thing!!! amazing for on the go play

    Great little practice amp!

Overall, for 20 bucks, you could do a lot worse than this bad boy. I like the color, although for some reason I was expecting it to be metal. The entire thing is plastic which makes it feel a bit cheap. Though, I did pay around 20 bucks for this thing, so that’s not a big deal. What’s important here is the sound, which packs a fairly decent punch for such a little thing. It can get pretty loud, and the gain creates a crunchy tone that I think most players will like. One of the things that drew me to this amp the most was the separate volume and gain controls, in addition to a tone knob. If you want something crunchy without waking up the neighbors, that is absolutely achievable here. If you want loud clear tones to practice your rendition of Misirlou, then that is also possible. Seriously, this is a great value for people who want a cheap, powerful, versatile little amp in a portable package.Though I would absolutely recommend getting a power supply for this thing, as it can go through 9 volt batteries fairly quickly.Cheers!

    Small, but packs a punch

Wow, this thing was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. I knew it would be small, but it could fit in my mailbox…..Not that that’s a bad thing. Just makes it that much more portable. It may be small, but it packs a punch. I can’t believe how loud this thing gets.I purchased the aqua color along with

Fender Squier® Mini Stratocaster® Electric Guitar, Pink, Rosewood Fretboard

    and

Danelectro Honeytone N-10 Guitar Mini Amp, Aqua

. I must say they look very pretty together.I love the retro style. I could unhook the guitar cable from it and have it displayed on a shelf and it would still look great. The only con is that it doesn’t include an AC adapter. It takes one 9-volt battery (which is already in the compartment wrapped in plastic – so don’t miss that when unpacking). For the quality, the price can’t be beat.

    A wonderful practice amp

I am a huge fan of the look of the Dan Electro products, so my eyes might have something to do with how much I love my little practice amp. It’s exactly what it appears to be. Obviously, it’s highly portable, runs on a 9 Volt if need be, and can get really loud for such a tiny thing. It’s got some effects that are very cool, when you keep your expectations in check. . I use mine for blues harp, and it’s as sweet as can be. I use it with my acoustic electric guitar, and love the convenience for practice, or off-site jam sessions with friends. I take it to the beach, and parties. It is worth the money, if you have it to spend. A very thoughtful gift for the musician friend in your life-it’s a novelty that is actually very useful. Form AND function.

This little bugger is loud! Can’t believe how much sound comes out of this cute speaker. The tone options are cool to add some distortion, although I’m using it for my ukulele, and not using the effects. Plenty of volume, comes with a battery, and fits anywhere, including on you. Thinking of buying a couple more to hand out as little gifts to my musician friends and family.

If you’re trying to rock out around a campsite and you don’t mind some crunch, this little amp will be okay. But if you want any, and I mean ANY good clean tones, you won’t get it with this amp. Spend 30-40 more on a blackstar fly 3.

It has good sound, does do a good job with distortion

It has good sound, does do a good job with distortion, but due to its size, there’s no way around it — electrical interference is way too easy as this little guy, making it one of the most sensitive amps I’ve ever seen. It picks up everything. So although it’s great for just practicing, it’s not worth it for any performances. If you want to practice at home and to test different distortions, then this works well enough for the price! If you hope to eventually go out and perform — even on a street corner — just get a decent amp, the sensitivity of this will make it hard on the ears.

Bought this for my partner as I do not have any musical equipment at my house- he loves it. Perfect for solo practice or small gatherings

Love that this little amp has 16 different tone settings all detailed in the manual. A great feature for such a small and affordable amp. I notice the external speaker sound quality isn’t quite as good as when you use headphones, but it’s certainly just fine for the size and price. This has become an essential component to my solo practices, so I can sit down, plug in and play without the setup or size issues of my stack and pedal board. It’s well-built, does not feel cheap at all. This has ensured that I practice my electric every single day instead of once a week, and I even practice in the living room while my husband watches tv. I am using a 29-string electric harp (Salvi Delta) that has boosted bass and mid tones and plenty of range dipping well into bass guitar range. Big chords don’t sound quite as good as solo lines, but I’m also plugging a powerful, $4,500 instrument with a boatload of range into a $40 amplifier. It’s to be expected, and in no way hinders my satisfaction with this little guy. Probably not an issue with guitars and basses which have fewer than 29 strings XD.

The actual sound coming out of the speaker is pretty rugged, about what I expected for something so small. The sound through the headphones is much better, I like it with the Overdrive cranked. Not as nice as my tube Fender with an overdrive pedal, but close!10/18: I’ve discovered that I can run this out to my powered computer speakers, which have a sub woofer. I added a y-connector, so now I have a great way to practice to YouTube videos. I’m using it with a Fender Jazz bass

great little amp for 20 bucks!

okay, when i got this, it was only 20 dollars, but i guess the price has changed.this amp is great!the reason i bought this mini amp is because i needed a new amp because my amp from a squiere by fender pack broke. i have to say, this is much smaller, but the sound quality is great, and and can get as loud as my bigger amp. it has great distortion, best for the price, and best for the size. what i’m really suprised is that it also has amazing clean tones too. most mini amp only have one or the other. there is a sheet that comes with it that has stuff that show you how to adjust it to get like a clean sound or 70’s sound. i like it better , wayyy better than the amp u plug and play or the squire one i owned.when i first looked at the picture, i fell in love with the aqua color. it has a belt clip so you can play with batteries and walk around the house. it also has a leather handle, but there’s not much to say about that.you can use a 9v battery, which is great, (batteries last around 2 hours, make sure to have a few batteries on you or get rechargeables), or you can buy the danelectro 9v adapter (10$) that fits great so you won’t have to waste batteries.overall, this amp is amazing. a must buy for any guitar player, especially if you want something to take on trips or a very portable one. also makes a great gifts for musicians.highly recommend it.

This is a cool little amp! Not only is it aesthetically awesome, it sounds pretty good for what it is! It has some settings that you can mess with for some grit or clean tones but sounds totally vintage either way. Handy belt clip and battery plug in are quality additions. I basically bought this so I could walk around the house without having to ever put down my guitar but also to play to my 6-month old son and not blow his little ear drums out. Hoping this will last long enough for him to start playing on 🙂

    Perfect for my princess

So, my four year old lil one is really into singing right now. She has just finished recording a part on a cd as well, for a Christian artist. For Christmas we gave her a “real” mic so that she could sing her heart out whenever she wanted. I purchased this amp with some hesitation based on other reviews but I am so happy that I did. She can hold the handle perfectly and walks around with it singing all of the time. The sound is actually very nice too. I think that this is a great product. I am not sure that it would really be the best for a professional because it is small and there are not all of the options other amps have, but for us this is perfect!

Not bad little amp I must say…

For 20 bucks, why not right? Its a nice little “oldies” looking tiny amp and it does put out some volume for a little piece of equipment. Don’t expect any delay, reverb, or chorus with this but it still does the job on the gain side(for some distortion). Very portable too. Okay clean sound as well. Nice little “prop” to have around when friends come around, hehe. I already have a few practice amps from Roland (micro cube, & a cube30) but this was still worth the 20 bucks.

    Great For the Price

I bought this amp to give me something to use in the living room when I want to practice without running everyone out of the house with my main amp and half stack. It’s especially useful at night. I can’t even begin to talk about tone–any real amp will blow this away. If you just want to noodle around on your guitar without disturbing the neighbors or you are traveling this is a nice alternative. For an amp that runs for a long time on a 9V battery and has a 2″ speaker and that you can literally clip to your belt this sounds just fine. It does have a gain control, which gives the speaker a bit of a crunch sound. For what it costs and for what I was expecting this is an excellent little unit. However, if you’re getting your kid or grandkid an amp for Christmas this will not be the one they are hoping for.

Good for the money, a bit of false advertisement.

The description for this product says “leather handle”. The only handle on it is made out of good quality plastic. I couldn’t get the 9v power to work. I hooked it up to two different chargers and both of them caused the amp to power off when it was already running off of a battery. Don’t leave the batteries in it when you’re not using it. it drains them in a day or two. The sound quality is pretty good, but if you put the overdrive too high up, it makes it way too fuzzy. Overall, a good buy for the money.

Liked it better than any other battery mini-amp I’ve played

These are on sale for $19 (list $39) at Amazon. My son needed something small for guitar lessons, so I took the bait.My expectations were low, but I was pleasantly surprised. This little amp is cool! It can be loud without crackling or buzzing, has a ‘distortion’ circuit that is pleasant, and a tone control that is musically useful. I like it much more than similar mini-amps, which are the tiny ‘Marshall’, ‘Fender’, ‘VoxPlug’, and Pignose. The 2″ speaker won’t ever make that ‘tone of your dreams’, but is quite musical. If you haven’t guessed by now, I had fun playing through it ;)The coolness factor alone makes it worth owning. My favorite ‘cool’ touch is the included 9v battery. It’s labelled as a Danelectro ‘vintage power source’ (lol). I found it fun, musical, VERY portable, and playable. It will be great for vacationing, camping, practice, and songwriting.I can’t think of any guitarist that wouldn’t like this as a gift. It is a steal at this price.Subtract $2 for the battery (included), and you can convince yourself it only costs $17.

Try systematically setting the gain, tone etc at 9-12-3 o’clock minimum/maxamun combinations at first. You can get the tone you want or very close. I strongly suggest you get a new nuclear/alkaline/kick butt 9volt battery to power the amp or you will think it’s defective or in my case I did anyway. Sweet little practice amp – big on looks – OK sound (what did you expect in a 1-watt amp?). Reminds me of the old genre of “headphone amps” (this one has a headphone jack also – and a belt-clip) but with a speaker (why not?) and gorgeous styling! Quiet clean tone and nasty overdrive/distortion (gets louder with overdrive…) – you can put effects pedals in front also. Definitely worth the price!

    Best mini-amp ever

I used to have one of those little mini Marshall half stacks and it sounded horrible. I expected this thing to be similar but just wanted a small amp to play at home while I’m stuck inside. Much to my surprise, this amp actually sounds really good! You can even get decent clean tones with it, which is something the Marshall just could not do. The only real drawback is it kills batteries really fast, so it’s best to use a 9v DC adapter. Any standard guitar pedal adapter will work. Highly recommended!

    Good amp

I bought this for a friend but I played my violin with it and the sound is very good and strong. I have two other mini amps and this one out performs them by a lot. I like it so much I ordered one for me too. I also like the sheet showing the settings for 16 music sounds. I chose the early and late 80’s, I was in my 50’s then and they are good. I am 95 years old and started playing at the age of 8. About 5 years ago I got an electric violin and it got me into very serious playing. I have recorded several hundred songs with it and I get much enjoyment from it. My quite expensive acoustic violin hangs on the wall.

    A great buy and a bargain.😁

Try systematically setting the gain, tone etc at 9-12-3 o’clock minimum/maxamun combinations at first. You can get the tone you want or very close. I strongly suggest you get a new nuclear/alkaline/kick butt 9volt battery to power the amp or you will think it’s defective or in my case I did anyway. Enjoy, I have.🎸🎵🎶Baby you need coolie back to schoolie🎶🎵🎸 LOL

    Worth every penny

I was pleasantly surprised…for such a tiny amp, it has a great range between clean and distortion tones, very versatile but simple and easy to use…I actually like it even more than some of my larger amps, it’s perfect for finding a pure 60’s/70’s vintage tone it sounds exactly how an amp from that era should sound and it gets loud enough to not be drowned out by other larger amps when jamming with others

I use it for bass guitar; Due to the size, you dont want to turn the volume all the way up or you’ll risk blowing out the speaker. Small and aesthetically pleasing. If you’re looking for a cheap small amp to mess around or practice with, this is it.

I ordered this for my neice to go with a new 3/4 electric guitar for Christmas. When it arrived I was first dismayed at how small it was. But then I plugged one of my guitars into it and was amazed. I clipped it to my belt and played/danced around the room.Amazing volume for such a little thing, good clean tones and impressive overdrive. I had to force myself to unplug before I ran out the battery. My neice is going to love it. I might get one for myself.

    5 year old approved!

We (5 year old) use it with our Daisy Rock 22″ scale single-pickup guitar. According to her, “It is tiny but surprisingly loud for its size. Very clean sound on clean setting. When we need a good rock sound with overdrive it is always there for us. We just plug it in to our guitar and it makes a really loud noise that my 3 cats (shofie, boonie, and deedee) and 1 dog (chloe) can hear from the living room, and it wakes them up. Color is very bluish and great. The handle is very cute, but it is dark and does not match. The controls are easy to use, the light helps to know if it is on. Once again it is great.”

Really neat little amp. Buy 9v adapter quickly though

This amp sounds and looks really really cool. I love the way it feels and it can make a pretty big range of sounds from a sort of classic rock sound to a crazy distorted sound without blowing out. The headphone jack works too if you’re like me and have parents that would rather not have to hear you playing. My only suggestion is to invest in a 9v wall adapter as fast as you can. The battery that came with this lasted me all of a week. Then I put in a new one which I thought would last a lot longer. It lasted about 2-3 weeks. This little amp eats batteries like crazy. Buy an adapter. Otherwise I love the vintage sound and look of it and definitely suggest you buy it.

You can get a clean sound from this mini amp, but it is mainly a distortion unit. Fun distortion though. Plenty loud for a beginner in his room. Looks great.

Best value in Very Basic, Ultra-Portable Amp!

If all you need is to hear yourself practice, this amp is best-value! 1 amp is more than loud enough for that. And, tone is clear, so what else can you ask at this price? I have a more expensive modeling amp which keeps me entertained, but I can literally clip this on my belt or even pants pocket, and walk anywhere making decent sound…. love it, for what it is..

    Great little amp!

What a cute little mini-amp! I have been wanting to get one of these for years! The battery that came with it was deader than a door nail – par for the course with Danelectro batteries – but I have an official Danelectro power supply (I have numerous Danelectro pedals) so no worries.Great sound & tone for noodling in my postage stamp sized apartment & not bother my neighbors.

Of course it is small – it does say MINI AMP in the description. Works fine with a bass

Runs on a 9v – which IS included. Nice. Can be powered by an adapter – which is NOT included. Not so nice but for the price I’m not surprised. I have plenty of adapters laying around. It is SMALL – one may even say TINY. This is to be expected – it is a MINI amp. How small? I uploaded a picture of it next to a full size Gibson. The description says it comes with a belt clip – this is a very good indication that it is very diminutive in size. How big of amp can the average person comfortably carry on their belt?I bought this for a practice amp (meaning: not loud, not meant to play louder than drums). It works great with my daughter’s 3/4 bass. Small package, decent sound for its price. It has a headphone jack – perfect so my daughter can practice and hear the tones while the rest of us do our thing. It does not have an instrument or mic cable – I don’t expect it to and neither should you. If you’re new to music or shopping for someone else, know that it is uncommon for amps to include these types of cables. They may be included in kits or starter packages but that is not what this is.Set your expectations appropriately for a mini amp and I expect you will be as pleased as I am with this. Whether it’s plugged into the wall or not, you just can’t expect big performance out of an amp that runs on a 9v battery. This does not go to 11. But I like it just fine.

    Good but not great

I wanted this so I could play my electric guitar out and about, and for the most part it satisfies my needs. The amp has only a volume, tone, and distortion knob, but that is enough for it’s use. This amp can actually get pretty loud, but it also gets really distorted. The distortion is kinda disappointing, as any thing past around 4-5 is just a fuzzy mess and sounds rather bad. It also has really poor battery life, so expect frequent replacements. I use it mostly with a 3.5″ jack to another speaker, as that sounds a lot better and saves the battery.Overall this is a good amp if you want something portable, just don’t expect it to replace your normal amp.

Sweet sound for a practice amp!

Got one for a practice amp for my wife’s lap steel. Then ordered one for myself! If you like sweet tones from your electric or steel guitar this will fit the bill.It does have a gain so you can dirty your sound. But the clean mellow tones are awesome! The ONLY negatives are no Bluetooth and no rechargeable battery.

Great little amp for the price!

I have actually purchased 3 of these- 2 for my own kids who use it with their electric guitar, and electric violin. They love them because they can clip it to their belt and walk around. It has enabled them to be more mobile and practice their instruments even while on vacation (since we don’t need to also lug large amps with us). There are obviously limitations in built in effects, but for 20$ you really can’t ask for more. My boys liked them so much I bought one for my nephew, and have recommended it to my son’s bandmates… (It also is adorable-but I won’t say that in front of them!)

    Great buy for $30

This is all you need to practice and jam on the go. You could go as far as playing an open mic if the place has a sound system to mic it correctly. I will definitely keep one of these around for camping trips or busking on the street etc etc. Really anything you want to do on guitar except play with a full band.

I gotta say, for 20 dollars I wasn’t expecting much. I DEFINITELY wasn’t expecting the interesting quality of this little thing! Absolutely perfect for taking with you anywhere. Quality is rich and loud with the ability to sound old and acoustic. I also gotta love the cute “control settings” it comes with to create different genres of sound. Worth the buy for SURE!

    Great practice amp for guitar

I’m new to guitar. Just needed a small guitar amp for practicing. This little amp is perfect for that. It’s small, lightweight and goes anywhere so I can practice anywhere. Plus it’s inexpensive.Love the retro look and aqua color, exactly my style. Even the 9v battery it comes with is retro looking. It is made mostly of plastic, but feels fairly sturdy, not super cheap. The knobs operate smoothly and are not wobbly. There are no loose or ill fitting parts. Overall fit and finish is excellent. It’s easy to operate and the sound from the tiny speaker is good. It’s loud enough to play to a small audience in the same room. But as a beginner, I’m not ready for that yet, so I tend to keep the volume low. I like that it has the option to run off of battery or can be plugged in with an adapter. The little handle strap is not leather as the product description says, it’s like a soft plastic. I think it’s more for looks than functional anyway. If there was one improvement I would make, it would be to have a separate on/off button from the volume control. That way, you can turn it on and off without having to readjust the volume each time.Anyway, this is perfect for what I needed it for and would definitely buy it again.

    Mini but mighty!

Small but mighty. I just led a ukie jam on a boat, and had this with me. No one could hear my Uke above the motor so I thought, what the heck, I brought it. Boy, did it kick out the sound! I had previously used this with other instruments (including a stick on piezo on a Uke) and couldn’t really tell, but with my Donnor DUC-4E Uke and it was incredible. Recommend this for a small noisy venue.

Well built fun mini good value

At $20, i considered this along the lines of those 3-channel r/c helicopters, little engineering marvels priced so low as to almost demand to be purchased. And for $20 it delivers. It is what it is though, an (almost) toy mini-amp, weighs nothing, with a belt buckle clip on the back making the thing fully mobile/portable under battery power ( one 9-volt included) or a/c adapter (not included). Volume-wise the Honeytone punches above its weight when all three control knobs go to 11 and there’s enough volume and variable tones for recreational hobbyists putzing around the house, garage or coffee shop, but not enough power to play with a fully amped up electric band unless it was the weepy emo acoustic set. My Gibson sg, Fender Mustang and Taylor big baby all sound great through it. One button controls volume, another more or less controls tone and the third knob more or less provides some overdrive. $20. That’s a beer and a pretzel at a ball game. Definitely worth the price.

    Cool little amp

Doesn’t sound particularly great but it makes my guitar louder and I can keep it in my truck. Its a cool toy and the price is right. I rigged mine with a lithium battery pack so I dont have to worry about replacing the 9 volt. They should consider a rechargeable for this, I would pay more to have that feature for sure.

Gerat little amp for the price

This is really a nice little amp. It’s surprisingly loud and even comes with it’s own vintage styled battery. The main reasons why I didn’t give it five stars are because the tone knob gives little discernible difference in sound, and because the handle isn’t leather like the listing says but rather some kind of rubbery plastic. The body is very nice looking, almost like enameled metal, but it’s also entirely plastic. That said, it delivers a good sound and is fairly loud, especially for something running off a nine volt battery. It’s not very heavy so it would be fairly comfortable on a belt. It does look kind of funny with my huge guitar cable sticking out of it but that’s perfectly okay. It’s great for apartment dwellers or people who want to go play in the park.

    Big sound Little Amp

This amp is great for what it is, a small portable guitar amp. Bought this amp for my son b/c he was starting electric guitar lessons and wanted to wait to see if he’s really interested before shelling out for a real amp. This is a great little amp to hear yourself play without immediately jumping in to get a amp. It can actually get pretty loud, I was impressed. The only reason I don’t give this a 5 Star is b/c of two things, a power cable is not supplied and the tone is distorted. I’m guessing the distorted tone is the honeytone sound it’s not bad but it would be cool to turn off that feature. Overall, this amp is great and even with the reasons I wouldn’t give it a 5 star I would recommend this amp.
