    Awesome

The directions were easy to follow. If you like challenging time consuming puzzles, I recommend this one. After months of staying home because of Covid-19, I am looking for things that occupy my time and are a bit challenging.

    Good!

It was not clear which side on some pieces were top or bottom or exposed or kept inside of ship like the floors having a black wood side and the other having brown wood side that no one would see. However this kit was incredible! Still worth 5 stars!

    Absolutely beautiful

This ship is amazing, it’s a 3D heavy duty cardboard puzzle with over 200 pieces. If you follow instructions EXACTLY it is fairly easy to assemble, except the tops and bottoms of the pieces are not clearly marked and we wasted 20 minutes trying to put one of the pieces on upside-down. For the most part you do not need to glue these pieces together to get them to stay put, except for the sails. The sails will not stay on unless they are glued. Overall this piece looks amazing and the quality and attention to detail is remarkable, I would say it’s comparable to a model ship in the way it looks. If you have the patience and time this is a wonderful puzzle and I would buy it again.

    Fun and challenging!

Just because it can be difficult at times, doesn’t mean it’s not fun. It was fun to assemble together as a family. The final product looks great! But be prepared, it is tall and big. If you have cats, they may be interested in meeting it. It doesn’t, really, want to stay together so any bumps or falls can easily frustrate you.

I have built many cubic fun 3D puzzles and have enjoyed the superb quality and easy to follow instructions. With the HMS Victory ship model I did have a problem fitting the mast stays and climb stays on the fore and mid mast. They seemed to come up short and had trouble keeping halyards sails and aforementioned in place. I resorted to dabs of super glue to keep all in place and in a presentable placement. However, after all was done the ship came out fine and worthy of proud display. It is a beautiful model of the HMS Victory!

    looks good

It looks very good when completed and is sitting with the Queen Anne’s revenge which I also have made. Just have a little clear glue handy as some parts have double sided tape on them and it tends to let go after a few days and needs to be glued back in place. Other than that it is a very nice puzzle.

    Ahoi!!

Super fun to build, but you might need glue

This was a blast to put together. My first model of this size. Broke a few pieces, but still got it up and looking good. I would recommend glue, especially the masts and sail connection pieces.Construction was a bit hard, but that may be lack of experience on my part. Total time was around 13 hours.

Fun to put together, less of a puzzle more of a model

While I enjoyed putting this together, I can’t in confidence say it was a puzzle. It has instructions on how to assemble. That kind of defeats the point of a puzzle. Still, was fun and I love the finished project.

great for the price and a decent challenge.

This ship gave me hours of entertainment. it was not easy to assemble and the pieces could be difficult to fit together without bending which always left white paper showing where the colored paper ripped a bit, easy fix with a blk sharpie. I suggest using tweezers as a tool. I got this on sale $35. also is a good size and great overall look. the bending pieces and one actually breaking made it a bit frustrating especially with out any spare pieces. Definitely feel accomplished after completing this build.

    Excellent quarantine date night!

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend because he loves boardgames and pirates and I thought this would be great for us to do while largely stuck at home without enough people for a solid boardgames night…Let me say, it was a HIT. We got to the time he’d normally go to bed and he wanted to keep working on it! He did a full on photoshoot once it was put together with different levels of lights and close-ups. It ended up being a fantastic date night activity and the ship looks SO COOL! Easy enough to put together for the most part too.Highly suggest this.

    Pandemic fun!

I kept seeing memes about people working puzzles during this pandemic so I came to Amazon to find a puzzle. I found these 3D puzzles! SO MUCH FUN! I am a healthcare worker so I still had to work but I looked forward to coming home every night, decontaminating myself, and then sitting at the table and constructing a little bit of the ship every night. The lights really add a fun element. The booklet that comes with it has the history of the ship which I thought was really neat! I’ve already bought a new 3D puzzle to work on next!

    large size

A nice 3D model, with LED lights included. Lights up well, especially at night a nice effect with the interior lights. I had some trouble with the batteries and the on/off switch. Sometimes it did not work. So I put in a battery to USB cable device, so now I can plug in the power via USB cord, not having to change/replace batteries and not having to switch on/off at the ship, but simply at the usb plug instead. I would recommend the manufacturer replaces the battery setup with a usb cord instead. this is much easier and also saves the environment (less need for polluting batteries).

    Patience!

This was a great 3d puzzle. It was my first time, and after reading reviews I made sure to take my time. I thoroughly enjoyed building this and it looks great. I did use a little glue to hold pieces together better. This was only for my comfort as it is large. I liked this so much I bought another one to work on over the winter. Fyi this is not a 4 hour puzzle, it’s more like 10 to 15 hours.

Easy to put together, awesome detail

As an adult, this is the most fun I’ve had putting a model/puzzle together in a very long time. I had the day off of work and spent 8 hours straight (I don’t see how i could have been any faster, except maybe with another person who could have popped the pieces out and organized them) at the kitchen table sipping cold beverages with the history channel on in the background putting this together.Followed the directions exactly with very little need for interpretation. It really is pretty easy, just pop the flat foam pieces out of the template (which requires no cutting) and join them. By step 4 or 5 you are already looking at a complete ship’s hull on a display stand. I had an exacto knife and a small bottle of liquid superglue handy just for the few instances where I couldn’t get something to fit just right, but for the most part it is very straightforward and everything goes where it should. All pieces join with what is essentially a tiny mortise and tenon joint, which for the most part fit just fine. There are instances where you have to force them in and figure out how to grip the model without disrupting other connections while applying force to ensure that they are fully seating. The ship looks amazing in the dark with the LED lights on. From a distance, it looks like a full blown intricate model of a ship, and up close that effect doesn’t change much. Be aware though that putting this model together could result in going down an internet rabbit hole for hours reading about Blackbeard and his ship…

Prima volta che faccio un puzzle

The media could not be loaded.

This ship was fun to put together and mostly easy to understand but some of the pieces didn’t go in the holes like they were supposed to. I had a hard time with some pieces going together and some of them ripped. But it’s like hard paper so maybe that’s why.

Ok. I read the description (quickly) and thought this was a 3d puzzle. Like with puzzle pieces!!! So, it’s a model. I’m dying laughing. I bought it so if there’s a snow day, we have something to do. Never done a model before. I’m supposing if jack frost comes to visit I’ll try my luck at a model. Regardless, it looks pretty cool!

A beautiful model, but battery pack is shoddy

The revenge never looked so, black. This papercraft model was fun to put together and the step by step instructions were simple to follow. The only thing that was lackluster was the battery pack for the L.E.D.’s. The on/off switch is loose and doesn’t connect well. I’ve had to tape the switch down for the lights to work. That’s the only drawback for mine.

This was the first cubic fun 3d model I have made and absolutely loved it. The parts came together very easily and the instructions where extremely easy to read. Unfourtunalty the switch to turn the lights on was very stiff which requires me to open the back of the ship to turn them the lights on and off but doesn’t effect the look of this amazing model.

Saluti. C,G.

This was a real challenge for my husband. He usually dies all the wooden ones and takes about 8 hrs or so. This was 19 hours actual work. I asked him if it was worth doing another he said yes he would now that he conquered this one. It’s big and is very regal I. Our living room. Does notook like paper but gun metal.

    Amazing

I built this in a slow and methodical manner. All told, it tool me around 11 hrs, including breaks. It looks awesome when finished and was a hell of a lot of fun to build! I took my time and enjoyed the process. The instructtion were 95% clear. On some of the assemblies (especially the hull) be sure of the concept of how the pieces fit together. This was purchased by me and the first one of these things I’ve built. The instruction are also prefaced with the history of the ship with awesome pics. I was so impressed with this model that I purchased Galleon San Filipe and The Ghostly Flying Dutchman!!! Now …. where to put them!

    Fun

I had a really good time doing this ship. I wish the pieces were a little more sturdy as they will sometimes bend/break (it is kind of like a foam/cardboard) material that the pieces were made from. Overall though, i really had a great time and will buy another one in the future

20 plus hours to make looks great a few errors in instructions

says 4+ hours on box well yes 20 hours+ is 4+ ! theres no way on earth you could do this in 4 hours they need to change that on the box, anyway it looks great but ive noted the errors / difficulties they need to fix ..step1 part 16 arrow heads should be added beside the cut out in the left hand vertical arm so that the part is assembled with correct orientation, just as has been indicated for parts 75 & 76 in step2, next step 3 part 198 the slots at the left hand end for parts 27,22,23 should be made wider to coordinate with assembly of parts 155 and 181 in step 10 with tabs in exactly the same positions. its impossimle at moment to locate 2 tabs at each of the 6 positions, with 1 tab pushed upwards and 1 downwards.alternativly each pair of tabsshould be staggered so that each tab occupies a seperate slot . thus 12 slots would be required instead of 6, all slots and tabs concerned being shorter to suit the limited space.this is the only area on the ship where the problem occurs of tabs being inserted in the same slot in opposite directons.step 7 part 168. its considered essential to cut away the front edge of stair 168 in order to offer the lamp into the stair 169 above.step 10 parts 159 and 180 the slots to take tabs of part 167 need to be punched through at an angle to correspond with the tab orientation.step 16 the angled slots in parts 159 and 180 need to be punched through at an angle to correspond with the tabs at the ends on part 271steps 18 and 19 , parts 92, 120 and 129. these clips should be modified so they are fixed to the corresponding mast before the ladders are installed, otherwise there is insufficent space to offer them up into position and fix the top edge of the top sails.the stern on the ship should be extended and modified so that the lighting cables can be tucked away and enclosed as they are left hanging out the back of the ship so doesnt look great

    4.0 out of 5 stars

Cool ship! Fun project, but a little frustrating at times.

I’ll start by saying I’m very much a novice model maker. However, I do large projects that are detail orientated and consider myself somewhat crafty. I haven’t built a model in YEARS, until I stumbled upon this one. Spending a lot of time playing AC4 (best game ever), I had to have this.As said in previous reviews, the pieces are punched out from 14 sheets, gloss printed paper sandwiching a blackish dense foam. No glue required (if you’re lucky/good), friction fit, tabs and slots. The build took me about 30 hours, and here’s why – I used a popular black ink permanent marker to color all exposed edges, hoping to hide the fact that it’s cardboard a little bit. I thought the copperish shading from the marker would accent the ship as well, but it turned out somewhat reflective, too. I also touched up the edges on some pieces with silver and gold paint pens, but the foam in the middle of the pieces doesn’t really want to be painted. You can only do so much. Be careful.Or slap it together in 6 hours, details be damned! :-PI took my time, being methodical, but there are some steps that were truly frustrating – especially putting the skins on the hull, and mounting the sails with their design. My big advice is to pinch the tabs and slots a little bit to make sure they connect easier. Don’t pinch them too hard or they will be a loose fit! Find an assembly video online if you get stuck. Don’t forget to slow it down to .25X so you can see what’s going on, if necessary.I had to spot a few places with quick drying glue to keep things in place occasionally. Use sparingly if you get hung up, but it is satisfying when you finally get that tab to stay in place. Make sure to test fit pieces before using this last resort! The LED wiring is cool, albeit not exactly a perfect fit. Be prepared to bend them aggressively to make the placements as instructed. The lanterns are whacked – I guess you just run the wires up and set them on the LED’s. Kinda ugly. I also had to twist the wires on the aft above the captain’s cabin to try to shorten them in order to fit them under the rear skirt piece that covers them. The piece still doesn’t lay flat, but I tried. All in all, for the price, it’s pretty dang cool. Sure, I have some tabs poking out – putting together the hull was a pain. My wife says it looks plastic-y when I finished, but hey, it’s a $40 project.I christen thee – the S.S. Shar*ie!!Now I have to figure out where to display it…Enjoy, if you’re the patient sort. I did overall, but there were some walk away moments. The finished product is worth it it though, IMO.

    Family Quality Time

Let me just start off by saying this puzzle was totally worth it! It was highly detailed, easy instructions to follow, and had good quality cardboard pieces. It was my family’s first time doing model building and we took around four hours as shown on the box. While growing up, my parents were always busy working to help support us so they didn’t have the luxury spending quality time with us. It was nice now being able to work on communication skills and the whole building process was stress relieving. I am definitely going to get the Queen Ann’s Revenge model set next! Some tips I would give:- make sure the pieces was secured really tightly- fold the pieces well (especially the bottom portion of the ship)- I didn’t use any glue but would have honestly used it for certain pieces to help keep it flush against each other

    Took 12 hours, but fun

For me it took two 6 hrs to make. It was my first time making something like this, and was confused so much about front and back of the pieces. So look carefully at the pieces on the book to know exactly which way it is supposed to go. I screwed up twice because of it and wasted like 2 hrs fixing my errors.I recommend getting a superglue towards the end. Some pieces were too loose for me and fragile. (talking about the sailing part) Everything else was pretty sturdy. At least for the titantic, i didn’t need to buy superglue. Pleased with both products, but prefer the titanic. Also note that before you start making, get a screw driver and install the AA batteries first.

    Not Queen Anne’s Revenge

This is a great puzzle, but it’s not Queen Anne’s Revenge. It’s the Black Pearl based on the mast head and the stern. There is another Cubic Fun puzzle that is the correct Blackbeards Ship. It’s called Queen Anne’s Revenge and has no leds. Skeleton at the bow and one lantern at the stern. Both are amazing and should be collected.

Don’t believe the “no glue needed” line. There are a few pieces that absolutely need to be glued if you expect them to stay in place. Otherwise it is a nice kit. For someone lilke myself who has very little to no patience, I was able to complete the ship with no problem.

    3D Black pearl

I’ve seen some of the comments on this but I found it quite easy. Some of the tabs are a bit fiddley and care must be taken. The instructions are good and for a “Flat Packed” model I was impressed with the end result.I’ve also seen comments about the lights not working. Make sure you connect them up properly but no worries here. No tools required but some people may find a bit of paper glue might come in handy for the more delicate bits, ie: the rigging. I enjoyed making this model and it looks pretty good too. Took me about a week off and on. I say, enjoy, good bit of fun if your bored!!!

    Nice gift

I bought this as a birthday gift for my boyfriend, who loves pirate ships. It ended up being a really nice set when all put together, but it was super difficult. Just be prepared to invest many many hours into this project. The pieces are cheap and flimsy, where they are Chinese made, so you have to be extremely delicate. Also, the set up for the lights is NOT very practical. You can’t take the battery pack back out without deconstructing a huge part of the ship. We just use without lights.

What a great display piece for a foam board model!!

I really like putting together 3D foam puzzles, but so many of them don’t look impressive when they are done due to having printing on one side or not cutting out empty spaces. This model has an excellent look when complete. It was challenging enough to last for a few nights of assembly, but the instructions were pretty straight forward and there were only a few assemblies that you really had to pay attention to to get right. The lighting effect is ok. It makes the model look cool from a distance, but when you look in the windows, you can see the wiring. Overall, this is an excellent model that you will actually want to show off when it is complete. I hope the company continues to branch out and make some space ship models soon.

    guter Kundenservice

Extremely addictive if you love ships.

This was very fun to build and looks great love the detail! The directions are pretty straight forward other than a couple things, could use more descriptive instructions on where to run the wires as in how much slack to leave in or out and also go ahead and punch out EVERY hole as after a few pages you’ll end up having to punch them out and they will have to remain inside the ship. Also replacing the batteries is going to be interesting, might be a good idea to create a main disconnect right on the box so it can be pulled out the back with ease. Overall it’s a great project and my 9 year old helped so it’s not too hard.

Yo ho ho ho, a pirates puzzle for me!

This is the single most awesome puzzle / model I’ve ever done, albeit I have not done many models. It looks amazing when finished! Instructions are clear and pieces work well. There was a couple spots I used a little tape but better modelers probably could have done without. I also had a couple small gaps but think that was also something I messed up. All in all, this is a sweet purchase, even if it took 5 years to get up the nerve to do it.. haha! Me a novice, still got it done in about 8 hours.

    Exceeded expectations!

I rarely write reviews, but was definitely compelled to do so for this purchase. As a working mom I was looking for a small hobby that would be challenging enough, but not require me to utilize a ton of additional supplies that I would have to pull out and putt away each time I wanted to work on it. I also didn’t want something that was going to be completed in a couple of hours. So, I decided to give this a shot. This has exceeded my expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I could relax and watch my favorite show while slowly working on this model. I completed it over a couple of weekends (a couple hours at a time). The end product was larger and more stunning than I had expected from a foam puzzle. I was just sad when I was done. But, no worries, I have already ordered 4 more.

I discovered this brand and type of puzzle when trying to occupy my mind during a terrible time in my life. I was trying to handle my Mother and Uncle in the hospital at the same time and driving many hours 4 times weekly. When I was not driving, I was working on these to take my mind off them.I appreciated the instructions, effort required, patience, and overall quality of the product which I have on display in my home in various locations. I would recommend this as a personal project or a family effort. Even though not many pieces, it is time-consuming and worth it in the end. I will continue to recommend this brand as well as look forward to the next puzzles they provide. I have redone a couple twice as I needed something to occupy me, and these were the perfect item.

This 3D model/puzzle was so much fun and a perfect way to spend a few hours. Overall it took me 6 hours, but I was working on it at a slow pace. The structural integrity of the hull and the rest of the ship is very strong once put together. It’s getting 4 stars because there are some areas that don’t connect properly without pulling apart or breaking other areas and because the instructions are a bit vague for some areas. If you purchase this, make sure you have the following:* scissors* super glue* clear scotch tape* AA batteries* tiny star head screwdriver* long tip needle nose pliersOverall it was so much fun and the LED’s are such a cute addition. Honestly I had so much fun, and some meltdowns with this model. The instructions are easy to follow and all pieces are labelled well! The only thing I’d say was not great was the 2 pieces did not attach properly due to the length but apart from that nothing at all was bad! Overall, the ship was very beautiful once completed. The assembly process could have been better and also the model of the ship is the black Pearl and not Queen Anne’s revenge. Which didn’t bother me much but if you’re a ship enthusiast, I would suggest doing some research and see how this is a completely different ship model and definitely not the Queen Anne’s revenge.

The cardboard is a bit softer than the “4D Build” Star Wars models, but it has far less absurd building steps than those. I still don’t know why these kits advertise “no glue needed.” Any cardboard kit needs glue. This definitely is NOT a good kit for children, but for patient modellers who want a quick and large ship to build, it’s GREAT!For experienced modellers, some improvements I’d recommend would be to strengthen the interiors of the masts with wooden/bamboo skewer sticks.Overall, a great kit for a great price!

    Fun and engaging

It was very fun to put this together but while no glue builds are amazing, it counts on every piece being cut perfectly and fitting snug and sometimes that just doesn’t happen. Some pieces I had to squish or shape a bit to fit and had to use glue once, but over all 99% of the time it went smooth and was a great project

Fun to build and looks super cool

So much fun to build. Looks amazing on my shelf. Recommended for the detail-oriented type of person who enjoys time spent in focus mode. I think this would be difficult to do with a group since a lot of the pieces take concentration and a delicate touch to assemble. I had some trouble getting a few of the pieces to fit at first but that was probably due to me rushing at times. I was seriously addicted to building this for a couple of evenings. The hours melted away!

Great Puzzle with just a few setbacks

This took me about 10 to 12 hours to put together over a few days taking lots of breaks. 90 percent of it goes together quickly and easily, but some of the down sides of this puzzle is that some of the laminate starts to come off the pieces that you are forced to fold to make some of the corners, etc. because it all comes in flat sheets, it will start to peel in some areas. not a huge concern and once i got it together i put a little dab of model glue to hold it in place. Hardest part of the model is the the rudder section. pieces are very small and delicate. I broke one of the 3 pieces and had to glue it together. All in all, its def a more advanced puzzle in my opinion. But its the first like this I have ever attempted.

Not a 4 hour build, good looking ship

Nice looking model. Had fun, but not in 4 hours. It DOES NOT take anywhere near 4 hours to complete, people who say they did, did not, trust me. I put good time, care and patience and it took me around 10 hours fully to complete, which took me over 2 days to have a brake.A few points to note.A few parts bent and almost broke. The first was when you have to add the lower hexagon shaped cover for the middle mast, I had to dissemble the full mast and netting to put on the cover, because it only states on the last page, when to add the cover, after you already assembled the mast. I feel this needs changing.Second almost broke area , and is bent currently until I figure out why, is the two rope parts that go from mast 1 to two to strengthen the masts. These are added near the end and I struggled a little while trying to get the ropes to keep attached to the areas marked, but the ropes ended up bending because the masts where already in position strongly and they just bent out of place.A solution would be to have the middle rope abit smaller or how best attach the ropes without having the strain of two built masts resisting with each rope, thus forcing them to bend.Last problem was the sails. They kept popping out of position alot when trying to attach them to the mast. Again this is just resistance from the sail having to bend slightly. The lower part doesn’t seem to fit under the U shaped part you add to the back of the mast to the sail, in order to secure it. The paper it’s made from is good, just needs a better way to allow the U shaped part to attach without forcing the paper out of position if it can’t go under the U shape to securely attach.Overall a nice looking ship, will look out for others if made available. Happy model building!

A blast to build and even better to look at!

If you like building models or you’re an avid fan of puzzles, this kit should absolutely be on your very short list! A word of advice, pay the extra bucks for the LED version of the kit. I promise, you will be happy that you did. The LED lights really “Pop” this model. My friends and family all want to know which store I bought this at so they can get one of their own! When I told them that they’d have to build it, the look on their faces was priceless – lolI absolutely loved building this kit! The instructions are clear and concise and leave no doubt as to which piece goes where. Although the instructions state that no glue is necessary, which is how I did this build, if I were to do it over again, I would have had a tube a glue handy (not super glue!). While the various pre-cut pieces fit each other well, it is still only foam backed paper, and a touch of glue on the numerous connections and joints will make this model as solid as a rock!Overall build time was approximately 8 hours, which was probably due as much to me having to finding the right part and popping it out of one of the 10 sheets of precut parts, as it was to me just taking my time and enjoying the process. I took my time and did the build over several evenings, which I found to be very relaxing and cathartic. 🙂 Even without using glue, this model still feels quite solid and substantial. I was amazed at how good the finished ship looks and feels, especially with the LEDs on and sinister red lighting in the background. This ship is a model of Blackbeard’s Queen Anne’s Revenge, but frankly, I think it looks much more like the Black Pearl in Pirates of the Caribbean. (see pics)I highly recommend this kit for anybody looking for a way to spend several enjoyable evenings building out a beautiful ship that will look stunning wherever you display it. A second word of advice, although I believe that even novice builders can tackle this kit with a good result, some experience with modeling is probably necessary to do it true justice.

    Great fun!!!

This ship was amazing to build. I got this for my 10-year old daughter after she completed the Saturn V LEGO build. This ended up being a bit more complex than the LEGO pieces mainly because of the pieces not being as sturdy as the LEGO ones. But I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this kit. The instructions were very clear. Kids will have a lot of fun. They may need some help with some parts of it, in which case this could be great family fun. The detailing is really good and the ship stands out in any room once built. Good price with the coupon for a weekend of building fun.

This was a fantastic gift. Very fun to build, no tools necessary, and it went together smooth. I actually built it while in the hospital. Fun project for a weekend

I bought this for my wife as a Christmas gift. She was quite excited to build it. We built it together over about 3 sittings of 3 hours each. The finished product is very attractive when viewed from a few feet away. If you get out a magnifying glass and inspect it, you would find that there are a few gaps here and there where the tabs fit into the slots.I am very impreseed with the design of the model/puzzle. The paper part cut-outs are pretty sturdy; kind of like punch out pieces you would expect from some better quality board games. Furthermore, the hull, for example, has some clever geometric folding seams that were designed well.Building the model takes some dexterity and is challenging. Having a helper just to hold the boat is almost a necessity as some of the parts need to be pushed in with finesse and just the right amount of force. A pair of tweezers and a butter knife came in handy, also. The only glue I needed was to repair an anchor that got caught on my shirt and broke off the hull while I was attaching the masts and rigging. As long as you’re not expecting something museum quality, this is a fun project that yields a large model that is impressive to display. I would definitley recommend for people who like to (carefully) build things.

Will take you a few hours to assemble; just make sure you have a bit of patience and nimble fingers; makes for a great project; looks amazing upon completion, but its a little fragile so would avoid placing it somewhere it can fall. The night ligjts give a nice look in evening although not bright enough to light a room or even read a book it looks nice.Ive missed one or two pieces which either broke or I confused with other parts but has not affected overall look or design as you can see in photos. The size is quite big apon comparison with other brands but serves as a really great decor in any room. Received lots of complements. No hesitations about buying again.

    Not for ragers

The instructions to put it together are pretty easy to follow. It is made of cardboard so pieces are prone to bending and it can be frustrating to slid the tabs in since they are very snug. All in all, a really cool model but not something a would get for someone to gets frustrated easily

Sturdy, easy to assemble, fun, and beautiful model

What an excellent model. It came well-packaged and could be easily given as a gift in the beautifully decorated box. I purchased this as a fun project for myself, however, so I just jumped right in to putting it together. As with many other products like this, it is made for multiple countries, so pictures are abundant in the instructions and they are super detailed and easy to follow. A first look at the book may be intimidating for some, it is pretty hefty and lengthy looking when you pull it out of the box, but it is because of the detail and pictures, which is exactly what I was looking for.Upon starting, I was initially concerned about ripping the printed paper off the foam backing board, as that happened with some prior models I’ve done. But none of that happened with this kit. I was even comfortable letting my kids help remove some of the pieces and having them help with assembly. No parts were lost to ripping or bending! I did have to take extra care with the sails, since they are printed and made with a thinner paper. But with time and patience, those came out great too.A single criticism that I have would be the lighting switch. Once installed in the ship and the rest of the ship is built around it, there is very little to press against to move the stiff on/off switch. There is a little latch that you can remove the device for battery changes, but for the routine on/off function, opening this latch would lead to premature wear. I would suggest either making sure the switch moves easily before placing it into the model, or perhaps even that the manufacturer consider making the device have a small push-style on/off switch. Otherwise, I think this is a great model. So overall, I think this is a great model and I would definitely recommend.

    Ci vuole tanta…

…pazienza.

    Great For Filmmaking

The media could not be loaded.

I bought this because I am trying to brush up on my model making for film projects. If you are trying to make miniature things look big in a shot, this is a great size. Don’t listen to negative reviews. This IS buildable. Just have patience, the right tools and read the instructions thoroughly. I recommend having super glue for fixes, work arounds, and the mast poles for the sails. I used Elmer’s glue for every other parts to keep it sturdy. Once Elmer’s sets on a model like this it all becomes pretty sturdy. Have some scotch tape for the lights. And model clippers or a box cutter (also for workarounds). I say workarounds because if you mess up you can cut and glue pieces you may not have added in time or whatever. You can build without these things, but it’s a pain imo. Over all it was fun to build and looks great!
