I bought this for my seven year old daughter who was showing a huge interest in origami videos on YouTube. But she was frustrated with having to cut paper into squares and trying to follow videos that might be too advanced. I bought this because it seemed like a good starter pack, with 300 sheets and an instruction book. It’s perfect. She loves it, the instructions are easy for her to follow, and she has been cranking out cute little animals to send to our friends during shelter-in-place. It comes in a nice envelope, so she can keep everything together. My house is now covered in origami paper and animals, but she’s a crafter, so this is my life. As with everyone else with young kids right now, we’ve had to become part time home school teachers. Part of our day is going to be for creativity and art, which our kids already love doing. I wanted to add a little something special to do with them-something a little bit different-and I thought giving origami a go would be a good idea.I’ve really enjoyed doing the projects with them and they’ve seemed to be really into it. The projects are very accessible to beginners and the kids seemed to have done pretty well with them. As most kids like or are interested in animals, I think it’s a good thing that many of the projects they give you with the paper are animals.This is definitely something I would recommend to others looking for stuff to do with the kids while we’re all stuck inside. And for what it’s worth, it comes with a good number of sheets so it should last you for quite a bit.

My 9 year old requested origami paper and we settled on this after looking at several options. She has found the paper easy to work with. We got beginner origami books from the library but the booklet included with this set was the one that really clicked with her. She said it was the easiest to follow and the pictures were more straightforward than some of the books that only had some step-by-step figures and then said “here you do a (common folding sequence)” without showing how it applied on that project.

This product is a great gift since in comes in a sturdy envelope to keep the instruction booklet and paper contained. I love all the colors and the printed paper! The instructions are easy to read and understand and great for those who haven’t done origami before. The paper is thin but not so thin that it tears as easily as I hear that other papers can tear. I still encourage my young kids (3 and 6) start with regular copy paper before the final product on the origami paper.

Decent set for beginners. Instructions are pretty clear. Only issue I have is that the instructions indicate paper that is colored on one side and white on the other. Some of the shapes specifically use this contrast in the design, but the paper that comes with the set is colored on both sides. My daughter was disappointed she couldn’t get the penguin and whale to look like the one in the book.

If you’re looking for something simple to gift a 10 year old or younger, this is it! Simple and fun craft. The steps are easy to follow and the colors are fun to use. Our 6 year old even does this and it’s great for their fine motor skills. Folding can be a hard skill to master and it’s important to get it right with origami. We have done a few, but plan to try all of them so we can move up to harder origami. Great for beginners.

This is a great kit for beginners. The instructions are easy to read and follow and there are a lot of designs that kids love. My 9-year-old hasn’t had to ask for help with any of the designs and my 5-year-old can do all of them with assistance. The folder that it comes in is great, the book is durable, and the paper is good quality. We use this at home, but it also travels nicely if you want to keep kids entertained at restaurants or in waiting rooms.

The book has simple designs, nothing too complex, so I actually went online to YT to find more complex projects (like the crane, fox, elephant, things like that). This Origami kit is perfect for beginners to start with. The accompanying guide has nice illustrations which is easy to adopt and follow by kids. This kit has adequate quantity of pre-cut papers and thickness can be better.Overall find this product useful especially for beginners

Fun for family
Easy to read booklet. Folds can be a bit tricky. Quality paper and colored on both sides, good or bad depending on if you can’t figure out what side is which. Lol. Wish the paper holder was a bit stronger but overall good product.

Great variety of colors!
Ordered for a birthday present for our teenage son. Good activity for kids to get them away from electronics. Our son enjoys folding these! Wish paper was a little thicker.

Kids Love It
I purchased this set for students at work (school). The book has a lot of projects. Some of the directions for a couple of them were a little confusing to my students, but most were easy to follow. The kids really enjoyed making them. The dog and heart were the most popular. The rose and bat seemed to be the most difficult.

No cranes
So for anyone planning on making paper cranes good luck there’s no instructions on cranes but I can make a freaking cup there’s even some story about making 1,000 cranes but I guess I’m supposed to just know how to make it
