Nice paddle as you graduate from beginner to intermediate
I had been playing on a cheap paddle from set and moved to this paddle before I started an intermediate league. No, it is probably not the most advanced paddle out there, but from my online research and my experience with this paddle so far, I think you’d have a hard time finding a better cost to performance value. Pickleheads has this as the best cheap paddle on the market, and I have to agree.

Easy to handle, light and comfortable. Cute too!
I am new to pickleball and needed a racquet so I ordered this one. It has a nice spring when the wiffleball (?) hits it, it is comfortable in my hand and most important, it is lightweight, sturdy and cute. I would absolutely recommend this item for newbies.

One of the best quality starter set for Pickleball
I coach beginner Pickleball, and when people ask for paddle recommendation, this set is one of the sets that always recommend. The most important reason is the paddle is very good. It is targeted at 8 oz which is a medium to slightly heavy weight. The grip size is on the smaller side, which means smaller hands can play with ease. These paddle has the “Ridge Grip” feature, like other higher end Joola paddles. I am a fan of the ridge grip as it helps me locate the handle in my hand. The surface of the paddle is smooth, like most beginner paddles. You are not going to get a lot of spin out of them. For beginner I normally advice against spending too much time on spins anyway. The power / pop of the paddle is surprisingly good. It is not a thick paddle. Paddle feel is average, making this a all around paddle which is good for a beginner. The set is of great value since it comes with a very nice case and indoor and outdoor balls. Two friends can get one set and each take one of the paddle. This paddle is good enough for pure beginner right up to 3.0 play. As you get better, you can experiment with different paddle setups: handle length, power vs control, etc. Until then, this is a good set.

Works great!
Just started playing pickleball with my friends about 6 months ago. I got to try out their different racquets and liked the Joola brand the best. This is a great starter racquet. My friends have the pricier model, but this one works fine for me.

Great first feel!
This is most certainly a beginner to intermediate level paddle of exceptional quality. It just came in the mail, but my first impression of it feel in hand far exceeds the various paddle I’ve tried at just under this price point. Also, I ordered two used items for the first time… One came in terrible shape, despite being described as like new… This paddle from Joola is certainly new at used price.Ending up buying a second one!

Great for beginner…
Bought this for my wife who only plays a couple of times a week. It does the job however she feels it’s light too after using other loaner brands at the court. Still, a great paddle, seems it’s a great entry for those just starting out. I have a midline Joola paddle and love but will be stepping up to a more advanced paddle. Great products overall.

The set is perfect
I like that it comes with everything to get you and a friend started playing. It’s better quality than some of the other paddles on Amazon I can tell by the sound when I hit. The zipper portion of the carrying bag is perfect for holding phone, wallet, and paddles! The extra balls I pop in the front little mesh net and sling everything easily over my shoulder. I got it on amazon prime sale, worth every penny even if I paid full price.

High quality paddle.
I’m a beginner pickleball player (like many other people are), and I have found this paddle to be very high quality. The combination of graphite and fiberglass makes the paddle feel luxurious. I’ve used other cheap paddles and this is definitely an upgrade. The grip feels great in my hand also.I like the unique color design, though I wish it had a cover at this price point.

Impressed with these!
I tried these out several times last week and was thoroughly impressed with them! They feel quality, have a nice pop to them, and feel nice in my hand. I’m no expert in pickleball, so I cannot give some extremely in-depth analysis, but I can confirm that I was pleased with these as someone who is fairly new to the pickleball scene. They feel fairly lightweight, which is nice to me, but might not be what others are looking for. I had the chance to compare them side-by-side with some paddles that were 3-4 times pricier than these, and these honestly didn’t feel that different. Additionally, the carrying bag is awesome. I’ve been able to fit up to 4 paddles in the main pocket and 3-4 balls in the outside pockets, which is plenty to bring and have some fun with friends! I also like that the bag can quickly be adjusted to fit over your right/left shoulder according to your preference. Overall, if you are looking for an awesome set of beginner (or just reasonably priced) paddles, I would highly recommend these!

OK for beginner
These paddles were just obtained, and that night, I played with them. The paddles lived up to all expectations. The paddle seemed to be a little smaller than what other people were using. The weight is not the lightest but is still pretty put a good amount of weight. The grip is a great size and is quite cozy. Without a doubt, I’d suggest this item.

Lower priced Joola…
The Seneca series of pickleball paddles lie at the lower end of Joola’s range. Though not cheap, they’re significantly less expensive than much of the rest of Joola’s paddle line. What’s missing or changed? Probably the first and most obvious difference to my mind is the texture of the face which is significantly smoother than the Hyperion and Raidius carbon surface paddles. The Seneca shares its Response Polymer Honeycomb Core with some of the more expensive Joola paddles. it has a good protective edge, but lacks the Hyperfoam Edge Wall of some more expensive rackets from Joola, increasing their sweet spot. The racket’s weight is a medium 8.1 ounces. The handle is 5 inches long, slightly on the short side. This is a great paddle for beginning and intermediate players. it’s long on control, shorter on power, a paddle that imparts confidence in placement slightly at the expense of power. The other paddle in the Senece line (FDS 14) has a fiberglass rather than carbon face, and is thinner, allowing more power somewhat at the price of control.

Solid Intermediate Paddle
This is a great beginner to intermediate paddle. It took me a bit to get used to as I feel the ball doesn’t come off the face of the paddle as fast as I expected, but after a couple matches I got used to it. Seems to be holding up well after being used 1-2 times a week for the past 6 year. The grip is nice, it’s pretty lightweight and has a sleek look to it. Overall, I’d recommend it.

This kit contains two paddles, two balls and a carry bag. This paddle is great for a beginner who maybe has some racquet experience or a more experienced player who wants a balance of control and power. Control is awesome. You can hit real spin easily. Just wish the handle was longer. Seems like you have to spend quite a bit more money to get a longer handle.

Excellent for beginners and weekend players
If you are just getting into pickle ball and you are not sure if you will like it so you don’t want to break the bank, this is the racquet for you. This is a very nice price point for a good racquet. My thought has always been that one should get very decent equipment when you begin a sport so that you know whether you truly like a sport or not rather than not liking the sport because you have cheap equipment. This racquet can be used by a good player and not be dismissed as it has great feel and you are still able to do great spins and drops. This racquet is definitely a step above the rented ones you get issued at clubs. If you are unsure if this will be your sport, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Very nice quality and good grips
They recently opened a pickleball court in my community, so I had to try out this new craze. Of course, I needed all the basics. In the photos, you can see everything you get. I was pleased right away when I unboxed this set, as it seems to be of good quality, including the bag. These have good grips and are easy to hold. I am a novice pickle ball player, so I can’t say that I’ve tried a lot of rackets. I am happy with them though. You also get the carrying case and 2 pickleballs as shown in my photos. I’m happy with the items and feel like they are perfect for anyone starting out or already playing the sport.

Better than a starter paddle…
Comparing this to a paddle you would get in a starter kit, this is hands down better. It is more durable, more comfortable grip, offers much better power and somewhat better control. So, if you are looking to get into the game and want to start off with a better paddle while you learn, this is great! If you are thinking of becoming a regular, or competitive player or just want the best tool for your game- I would suggest springing for a higher priced paddle if you can! Joola makes a Hyperion paddle that is AMAZING!One thing to explore if you are a newbie- I don’t know if this is common but a tennis shop by my house rents paddle board for cheap (like $6/day). Gives you a way to trial before you spend your money!

Comfortable and lightweight. I’m not winning, but it’s not the paddle’s fault.
We’re new to pickleball and have heard it is important to have a good-quality paddle. We had started with the basic kind thinking it wouldn’t be important. It is important….everyone told us so. Everyone is still better than we are, but now we know it is our own play/technique that needs attention, not the tools.

I wanted to get a a set of paddles that were maybe a notch above beginner paddles. These seem to be a good set. They feel more solid than some other cheaper paddles I’ve used. Comfortable to hold. Easy to swing pickleball paddle. We purchased two from Amazon. To our surprise, the paddles did not weigh the same. One was heavier by 0.4 ounce. Each paddle is approximately 8 oz. Quality control? The difference does not seem to affect our play (maybe we are not skilled?).

Surprisingly Good Paddle, Definitely More Than A Cheapo Beginner Paddle
So Joola has a lot of high end paddles and they have some cheap ones to compete with the $25 no-name imports you see all over Amazon. Where does this paddle fit in the lineup? Honestly I didn’t think it would fit in at all when I ordered it. I thought it would just be a cheap junk paddle they were charging $129 for.Well it turns out that it does fit in and I’d call it a mid tier paddle in the Joola lineup. It feels like a much better paddle that something you’d spend $25 or $50 for on Amazon. It is a 16mm paddle and as a result gives you much more control than some thin cheap paddle you’d find on Amazon from a no-name company. The surface doesn’t really have any texture to it but it does still seem to grip the ball somewhat and help to add some spin. The Hyperion series as well as the Perseus and Scorpeus have a much more textured surface and are definitely better for spin. This paddle has pretty good power but not as much as something thinner. If you are looking to upgrade your first cheap paddle from Amazon, this is a paddle you might want to try at $129. In this price range a Franklin Max Grit may be worth a look. The PCKL Pro and the new carbon face paddle they released could fall in the consideration set. The Joola Hyperion 13.5mm and the 16mm Ben Johns Hyperion CAS might be worth considering as well.In any case, while this may seem to be a strange price and place in the Joola lineup, it is a very good paddle for the price. You don’t really hear anything about it or see it promoted much but if you are looking for something in the $120 or so range, this is a paddle worth checking out.

Good starter set with lightweight, comfortable paddles
We’ve been playing pickleball casually for several months. Our first set included two wooden paddles we used during the pandemic lockdown. After trying some other non-wooden paddles I knew I wanted to upgrade. These Joola paddles feel lightweight and the grip has a bit of cush with texture to help hold your grip. I have small hands so these fit me well. I’m not sure if people with large hands will find this comfortable. The bag is minimal and good if you don’t like bulk. The paddles just fit into the main compartment. The handles are a bit snug at the top of the bag when you try to zip it closed. There is a small hook tucked into the top for hanging the bag and two exterior pockets. The larger black pocket is really the only place for the balls. Maybe one more could fit in with the paddles. The mesh pocket is more designed for a 0.5L plastic water bottle. It would not fit a bigger bottle like a HydroFlask. This is the one drawback I see for the bag.

Good beginner sport
This a nice beginner set. It includes 2 balls, 2 paddles, and a carrying bag. My wife and I tried this set out at our neighborhood tennis court. The paddles have a cushion grip and is comfortable in our hands. The balls seen standard. The bag is high quality with an adjustable strap. A nice feature is the hook on the back of the bag that allows you to hang the bag on a fence at the court. We are fairly out of shape and we were able to play for about 45 minutes the first time.

Bargain priced Joola
Joola makes a number of high priced paddles. Some what of an elite brand I figured some of that quality would rub off on an entry level priced paddle. So far I think my logic was correct. Compared to my previous paddle this is a banger. Clearly more POP. Hit on the sweet spot and you get the strong loud POP that I like. Joola white handle looks premium… but is already showing some staining and this is from indoor play. Weight is fine but the paddle does feel ‘small’? Possibly because of the handle which is maybe a 1/2 inch shorter and a bit thinner than my previous paddle. IF I decide to return the paddle, the length of the grip will be the reason. So far I have found the ribs on the grip on one side of the paddle fit my hand well. That has become my front, attack side. If I reverse the paddle, my hand does not fit well. Raised ribs land in the wrong place. I never noticed the front / back grip difference on my previous paddle. I do wish Joola had added a nice Joola cover. It would have felt more premium, less basic, and I would have gladly paid an extra $10 or so. Guess that makes me a name dropper? I may demo another brand or two before finally deciding if the Joola Essentials is a keeper.

Great Set For Beginner Or Intermediate Players
This pickleball craze is new for me. I have a cousin who plays regularly, and she has been begging me to start playing with her. I sent her the link to this Joola set to get her opinion and she was impressed with it, so I ordered it.The bag is nicely crafted and I am very pleased with it. I have seen reviews stating the handles are a little small, but I have a small hand and they fit me fine.We practiced a little today… I have a big learning curve, but the paddles and balls seemed to be of good quality and did well. There are some very expensive pro level paddles on the market, but for beginner or intermediate players, this set should do great.

Newbie loves it!
Played for a month on a borrowed Prince raquet I got used to. Played one day on a different raquet and was miserable as the deadspots on the raquet seemed to be everywhere. Duh, just like tennis, the sweet spot was much smaller. Bought this raquet on a whim and immedietly took to it. Feel like I can put spin on the ball fairly easily and it grabs nicely (tennis and ping pong background). Although I’ve really only played with 3 different raquets, this one is by far easier to learn on an very forgiving. Playing daily for 6 weeks now and am anxious to get good enough to consider buying another Joola raquet. Compared to other raquets in this price range, I am very pleased with my purchase. Great first raquet!

Fine, Heavy Starter Racket; No Spin For You!
Solid recreational PB racket. Fiberglass surface won’t allow for too much spin & control but the build is fantastic and will last a long time, so it’s a great racket to learn with. The Essentials I am reviewing stated a 4.75″ inch grip but it was more like 4.50″ and it’s on the heavy side. I have very small hands so not a problem for me, but most men would want a longer grip. That said, it was a perfect size for most women. Like most Joolas, this racket has a raised edging (edge guard) that will occasionally cause an errant shot when reaching if the contact is just right between the racket face and edge guard.

Nice racquet
This paddle delivers unrivaled control and shot placement. Its 16mm Carbon Drive Surface provides a perfect balance of touch and speed, while the Response Polypropylene Honeycomb Core reduces vibration and increases durability. It has a nice enhanced grip, comfort, and less fatigue.I’m only a beginner pickleball player, but so far this paddle feels nice and light. I’ll have to play with it more to get a better idea of why this racquet is priced so high.

Joola pickelball paddle is awesome.
This pickelball paddle feels balanced and light weight. The honeycomb polymer core makes a big difference in my game as compared to my other paddle. It has really good ratings for control, power, and spin. This is the nicest paddle that I have owned. Product is as described. 5 stars!!

Great Beginner Paddles
I am a big fan ot Joola paddles (own several of the more advanced models), and I gave these to friends that are just starting out. They are much nicer than a lot of the import no-name paddles for not much more money. Nicely made, lightweight, with good action, and a good value.

Perfect for Pickleball
I purchased this set for my husband and I to play with. My husband is a pretty good player and I am more of a beginner, they suit both needs. They are great quality and lightweight. We have Joola ping pong paddles, so we were familiar with the brand. I will continue to purchase this brand.

Plays well. Good paddle for stepping up from beginner.
This is a nice paddle for a beginner who would like to invest in a better performing paddle. It has a nice balance of power and control with a 16 mm thick core. It’s a much better paddle than any beginner paddle you will play with. The face of the paddle is smooth with no discernable texture. But, it’s not slippery, just smooth. I can impart some spin to the ball but not nearly as much as a carbon fiber or textured face.I’ve played with other higher end Joola paddles. This is not in the same class as the paddles in the $250 range. There is a substantial improvement in play with the upper end paddles, as you would hope. But depending upon your experience you may not notice it. I think the real question is whether, at this price point, you would be more satisfied with a carbon fiber face. I have a different paddle in the $100 ish price range that I like much better. I recommend, if you can, to demo this plus other paddles in this range before buying.

Solid upgrade paddle with good control and power.
This is definitely a good option for anyone looking to be a bit more serious about the game. I used to play a lot of table tennis growing up and that’s what Joola is known for, so I was happy to see that they have the same quality in their pickleball equipment. The paddle is well made and durable with solid edge protection and a very comfortable handle grip that is larger than other ones I have had. Surface is slightly textured and has a good amount of surface area. Paddle offers a good degree of control and spin while still retaining a solid degree of power. I highly recommend it if you want to upgrade your game without springing for the pro level paddles. Just wish it came with a head cover or case for the price.

Amazingly tight paddle
I recently had the opportunity to try out the JOOLA Seneca Pickleball Paddle, and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed! As a fan of pickleball, I appreciate the importance of having the right equipment to improve your game, and this paddle definitely delivers. One of the first things that caught my attention was the fact that JOOLA is the official paddle sponsor of the world’s number one pickleball player, Ben Johns, and the PPA tour. This speaks to the quality and performance of their products, and the Seneca paddle is no exception. The 16mm carbon fiber construction of the paddle makes it lightweight enough for faster swings, while still providing excellent control and shot placement. I found the carbon drive surface to add an extra degree of touch, making it easier to finesse my shots. The response polypropylene honeycomb core provides reduced vibration and increased control, making it easier to hit consistent shots. I appreciated how the honeycombs compress for a better feel, and the shape and material of the core prolong the life of the paddle. One thing that can’t be overlooked is the comfort of the paddle. JOOLA’s Feel-Tec Pure Grip technology offers a tacky feel for an enhanced grip on the paddle, and increased shock absorption for ideal comfort and less fatigue. The handle length and grip circumference were also a great fit for my hands.Overall, the JOOLA Seneca Pickleball Paddle is an excellent choice for anyone looking to take their pickleball game to the next level. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, the paddle’s tech handed down from JOOLA’s pro paddles makes it a great upgrade for your pickleball set. Highly recommended!

I love my Joola paddle
I have been playing pickleball for less than a year and have been alternating between three different paddles, all different brands I got from Amazon. I didn’t notice any difference between the three in my play. When I started using the Joola paddle I noticed that my dinks and volleys were not popping up and when I hit a service return I was able to drive the ball back. I really love this paddle and have played about 20 games with it in the past week. The only downside is the white grip gets very dirty and discolored. I will probably over wrap the grip. The bag that comes with this set is really nice. The balls weigh 26 grams and bounce well. I am pleased with this set and happy I got it.

Highly Recommend
This is a really great racquet for the price, particularly compared to higher priced racquets I’ve tried. It is very lightweight and has a long paddle, which made it the perfect size for my husband’s medium build and grip. I think the width and length are standard on this one, though the one I use is a bit shorter and wider. This is a sturdy, dependable racquet that would suit a beginner to intermediate player nicely. Highly recommend.

Great Paddle with a Fantastic Grip
As I’m getting into pickleball more and more, I realized I needed a better paddle to continue to improve my gameplay. I am incredibly happy with this Joola paddle. When you first pick up the paddle, you instantly notice how great the grip on the handle is. Compared to the previous “starter” paddles I owned, this paddle is amazing. The grip is the perfect balance between plush and firm. It’s soft enough so the paddle sits comfortably in the palm of your hand, but firm enough so that you’re able to feel and control your shots as you play. The grip length feels just right when swinging this paddle. The balance of the paddle is spot on and I can swing the paddle with ease. I could tell that I was swinging with more confidence the longer I played.I like the protective edge that is on this paddle. I’m confident it will protect the edge of the paddle and prolong its life. Especially if the paddle comes into contact with the ground while swinging away. You won’t be disappointed with this Joola Essential Performance Series Paddle.

Jola plays Joola
I love the name since it’s pronounced exactly like my name. I actually correct people nonstop on the correct pronunciation. Ha.As for the paddle- I have another Joola pickleball paddle. This one is more expensive. I think I prefer the other one. It’s all about preference and I think this one is good, but the other one serves me better. But since I still consider myself new to pickleball, I am not giving up on it. When my game improves I may find this paddle better for my game. I had that with table tennis. Changed my rackets a few times.I know one thing- Joola has quality products.Thank you.

Good beginner paddle
I’ve been playing with a beginner wooden paddle for a month now and felt like I needed a upgrade as my skill progressed. I wouldn’t say this paddle is the ultimate pro version, but it’s a good mid level compromise. It’s lightweight (but not much more than my wooden one), the sweetspot is large and I hit the ball a lot harder with a lot more accuracy. Only time will tell if the grip will hold up, that is why I’m deducting a star.

Hands Down Best Paddle I’ve Played With
There is no doubt when you pick this paddle up – this is pure performance and quality. It’s got the Joola name which is synonymous with racquet sports (pickleball, tale tennis, etc), and this paddle is no exception to their top level quality production, and play-ability. This racquet is made of Fiberglass & Graphite with Honeycomb Core. The face texture makes it exceptional at grabbing the pickleball, and placing it precisely where you want it to be placed – securely on your opponent’s court. Spin is easily applied. From a grip perspective, it’s soft and supple while being friction-y enough to instill confidence in grip. This is a pricey paddle and worth every penny. Your game will improve significantly. Truly a wonderful racquet!

Great?
Let me first just say Joola makes a great paddle….I haven’t tried any of their higher end paddles but their reputation for producing quality paddles is well known. So, this is my first JOOLA paddle….overall, I’ve used about a dozen. Here are my thoughts on the JOOLA Seneca 16mm paddle:*Handle. I like the size of the handle. I’ve used handles that are both shorter and longer….this seems perfect to me. My hand is on the bigger side so for obvious reasons a shorter handles isn’t ideal. The longer handles impact the overall design of the hitting surface so this seems to be the best fit, for me at least. The grip tape and padding, just seem average to me. Not much padding and not particularly tacky. 4 stars overall.*Paddle Surface. This surface has some grip to it even though it’s smooth. It’s almost rubberized so if you like to put spin on the ball, like me, this’ll work. I do, however, prefer to use paddles with surface that is a little textured….it just gives the best bite when you are putting spin on the ball. I also wanted to mention that the paddle graphics seem to impact the amount of grip. If you hit with the side with more of the light blue, it seems to have a little more grip that the backside. I don’t love this. I don’t want to have to be concerned about which side I am using. Not saying it makes a big diffference, but the texture is a little different. I was debating between 3-4 stars, but ultimately decided on 4 stars as the surface is pretty solid.*Sweet spot. In my opinion, this is where the Seneca excels….it feels good to play with this paddle. It has a large sweet spot and the ball has good action off the paddle. I really felt like I had good control the entire game. 5 stars. In summary….definitely a good paddle, there is a lot to like about it. I would say this would appeal to a more casual player, although an intermediate player ought to appreciate this paddle as well. I had pretty high expectations for this paddle and for the most part, it delivered. I would place this in the top 5 paddles I own. Overall…in my opinion this is between a 4 and 5 star rating, but leaning more towards 4. If this were offered at $75, I’d probably change my tune, but given the $129 price tag, I will stick with my 4 star rating.

Excellent Beginners set
This is a nice beginner pickleball set that comes with 2 paddles, 2 outdoor balls and a sleek looking sling bag. The fiberglass paddle was not noticeably heavier than the current graphite paddle I use, but it did have much more pop on the court than the graphite set. The grips on this set are very comfortable and fit my hand nicely. The compact carrying case has the added bonus of some extra pockets to store your phone or keys while on the court. This is a great set to start with!

Definite upgrade to starter paddles. Nice surface, decent grip, more ball control. Nice!
I’m pretty new to the sport, but I didn’t want to burn money, so I used a friend’s paddle for a while. It was fine, and I didn’t know any better. But it was time to get my own.So I picked this up. It hasn’t made me a pro overnight, but I definitely feel more in control with this paddle than the other. Maybe the surface provides better contact with the ball, because you do notice a difference. It feels good in my hand, and it is pretty clearly better constructed than my buddy’s paddle! A nice upgrade if you’re in the market for a new pickleball paddle.

Nicer paddle than some of the ‘kits’
We purchased a couple of kits, a $45 kit with paddles and balls, and a $10 with paddles and foam balls…that don’t really count, but with a family of 5 you make do with what you have sometimes. I decide to expand our pickbleball hardware with a couple more paddles of better quality. This was one of them, and works well. We’re all beginners with no knowledge, kids are ages 5, 8, 10. The kids prefer the paddles with the $45 kit, while my wife uses this one. She doesn’t really get into spin, so this one seems to work well for her. Not too heavy, nice handle, easy to control. Of course, our requirements are pretty basic based on our lack of experience, but I feel like this makes a good beginner paddle. Now for me, I’m used to playing ping pong with spin over power, so I needed to get something with better spin control for me…

From a Pickleball Coach: Great paddle. Love the grip.
Amazing paddle. I coach pickleball every week and have tried several paddles. I had two Head paddles and now love this Joola paddle. Saving up for the upgraded more expensive Joola one day. This paddle is GREAT. A great way to get into Pickleball. The more expensive Joola paddles are worth it, but this paddle does the job just fine. Great for pickleball players that are recreational vs. tournament players. The grip feels nice. The paddle plays great. Good spin and feel overall. Very light weight feeling. Overall a winner.

Decent beginner paddle
This is a budget, beginner paddle. Unlike the high-end Joola paddles, this one caters to the begginer. It’s very light, so producing power takes more effort. If power isn’t your game, then this may work well for you.The grip is shorter and thinner than the high-end Joolas too, but it feels good. An overgrip would feel better. The paddle is thin and the surface is pretty smooth making spin difficult to produce.Dinking felt unpredictable. Not a lot of feel. The bumper came with a cut before I even got it on the court. The weight is 7.85 ounces. Not the 8.2 ounce that the packaging claims. This is a very entry-level paddle. It’s a good starter paddle, but nothing more.

Looks likea good starter pickleball set. (no net)
If you want to know about the pickleball game and its rules and equipment, go to Wikipedia and look up Pickleball. This kit consists of a good looking and convenience carry case, that contains two paddles that are within regulations and four balls that are in regulation. Two of the balls are for indoor use and the other two are for outdoor use. Outdoor balls have bigger holes and are heavier. The set does not contain a net or a set of rules. As far as I can see, this is a good pickleball set – if there is somewhere near you that has a picktball field and will permit you to play there. Of course, if you want, you can rig up your own net in a yard that can accommodate a game or give you an opportunity to practice. See the Wikipedia article for size of court and height/width of the net.I give this set five stars because it meets the promotional claims, and appears to fit with regulation ranges for the size etc of the rackets and balls.

Decent
Overall, this is quite a nice paddle, but I’m not sure it’s worth the price. When I first opened the package, the paddle looks very basic. It’s not flashy, but it does feel solid and well made. The surface is smooth, the weight is nice, both I did find the handle was a little short for my hand. If you have small or medium sized hands, it will be fine, but if your hands are larger it might not feel comfortable to hold. It would be nice if they included a protective cover, that’s my only real complaint. The paddle works well, it’s not too heavy or too light, and the ball looks of it nicely. I will say that the smooth surface gives you a little less control, but it’s a basic paddle.I haven’t used it a lot, so I can’t comment on the durability, but it does seem well made. I’m also not sure it offers a lot for the money. It’s nice, but it is basic and at $60 I don’t know how good a value it represents.

This paddle has an impressive sweet spot. The handle is super comfortable even after playing for a long time. It feels snappy and responsive. I’ve never been disappointed with any joola paddle but you can for sure tell the quality difference between this and the lower quality Joola’s.

Great Value, solid beginner/intermediate paddle
The grip on this paddle is fabulous, which can be said of all Joola paddles but it is still worth saying. This paddle has a higher power than most paddles I’ve tried, if you are good at controlling your strikes, you are going to be hard to stop with this. This performs near the level of Joola’s pricier paddles, and is definitely a good value for the brand.High powerGreat gripThe surface area is a bit lower than some of the pricier models, but not to the point of really hurting performance

Seems like a really nice paddle but I’m still a new player!
TLDR: Seems like a really nice paddle but I’m still a new player! We have the beginner Franklin brand set and loved it so we figured why not up our game some? I still can’t tell a huge difference but I definitely feel like it’s easier and more fun to play using this paddle. I do think it helps with technique but again I am soo new to this that it’s hard to tell right now if this is worth the extra money or not! It came in beautiful packaging and honestly this looks like a more professional paddle and feels like it too! I would say it’s worth it but as I get better and try other styles I’ll have to decide which suits me more and if I would go for some other paddle from beginner to intermediate or not! All I know is we have the Joola brand gym bags and absolutely love them, so I’m hoping the same quality applies to all their paddles as well!!

Great set for beginners
I got this set for my husband for Father’s Day, and he loved it! We played together and the paddles are awesome for those who are interested in pickleball but not ready to invest in a more serious paddle.

It’s a little too light for me. It seems that a thicker paddle, say 13mm thickwill provide more power and less noisy.

Works great!
Just started playing pickleball with my friends about 6 months ago. I got to try out their different racquets and liked the Joola brand the best. This is a great starter racquet. My friends have the pricier model, but this one works fine for me.

Go Blue 99 –
High quality paddle.
I’m a beginner pickleball player (like many other people are), and I have found this paddle to be very high quality. The combination of graphite and fiberglass makes the paddle feel luxurious. I’ve used other cheap paddles and this is definitely an upgrade. The grip feels great in my hand also.I like the unique color design, though I wish it had a cover at this price point.

We’re new to pickle ball and bought these just to get started. They’re easy to hold, seem to have good weight, and play the ball well.

Great mid range pickleball paddle
Started with a beginners set and now’s the time to step up a notch. This is not a high end paddle but it’s a great mid range and cost. I really enjoy it

Cheap, decent quality paddles.
These are solid entry level paddles and are especially useful if you have a partner that wants to get into pickleball but isn’t keen on spending top dollar on something that might not work out for them. These paddles have quite a bit of pop to them which sometimes sends the ball flying, but once you adjust they work great. Virtually no grit on the surface of the paddle so if you like spinning the ball you’re gonna really need to refine the technique. Have been using one paddle a couple times weekly for nearly 7 months and it’s still in great condition.

Decent for beginners looking for a proper paddle to try out without spending too much. I had to add grip tape but other than that, no complaints really. After using it atleast once a week for a few months, it has a few scuffs on the edges, but it’s not too heavy, and it’s fairly forgiving, so would recommend it as a good value paddle for those just starting out.

Great, but justifiable?
This is a very nice pickleball paddle. It is well made, light in the hand, and very responsive. The paddle surface is smooth, lacking grip that some offer. It still allows good feedback to the ball and I have enough control to direct my returns but not as much spin as I would like.Overall the paddle doesn’t feel any better than a set of paddles I got for the same price. I don’t know that this justifies the high price tag, but it is a very nice paddle and does out perform basic entry level paddles just higher priced than I feel it should be.

Bought these for my son for a Father’s Day gift and he loved them. He and his wife played pickle ball the next day in our neighborhood. Great beginner set from reputable manufacturer
I was glad to see Joola, a company that for years had made competition table tennis equipment, get into the pickleball game. This is perfect entry level Joola set for couples and beginners who want to ‘up their game’. The paddles are USA pickleball approved and look and play great. They provide noticeably more power and control than off-brand paddle sets. The set is weighted for power as it is a little more compact in length and handle. It’s also 12mm wide, so lightweight. The kit comes with a hanging bag with a fence hook that can fit three paddles (tightly) with an outside pocket that can hold your phone, sunglasses and keys and includes two balls that fit into the side mesh pocket. The grips should be a darker color and a little longer to accommodate larger hands. Also, the bag could be bigger and include 4 balls. Otherwise, a great starter set. Recommend.

One of the best paddles you can buy
I have to admit that I have never played pickleball before. But I have played tennis for years, so I can tell that this is a quality paddle just by looking at it. Plus it’s made by Joola, which seems to be the best brand currently for pickleball paddles. I ordered this paddle as well as a few other less-expensive Joola models because the HOA in my neighborhood is building a pickleball court. So I plan to learn to play and also teach my son. This way we will have some good paddles to play with as we are learning. I plan to start playing with the lower end Joola model I ordered, but once I improve I will change to this more advanced model. I will update my review later after I have had the chance to use it. But from what I can tell so far, this seems to be an excellent paddle for intermediate to advanced players.

Overall, it’s a solid choice for anyone looking to elevate their pickleball game.Pros:The blend of fiberglass and graphite gives this paddle a sturdy feel, yet it remains lightweight, perfect for those swift plays. Upgrade From the Basic
Pickleball is all the rage now, and we got a net this summer for our basketball court and are surprised how much we use it. It’s a fun, all-ages outdoor activity that really does bring people together. This paddle set comes with a sling bag for storage or transport, two balls and two mid-range pickleball rackets that are an upgrade from what probably came with your (and our) net, but won’t break the bank like the truly premium rackets.Lightweight and a nice grip, these feel good in your hand and seem accurate, though while I’m not awful, my skill level isn’t high enough to distinguish minute differences in equipment.

Great starter kit for paddleball beginners
This kit contains two paddles, two balls and a carry bag. The paddles give you something to see if you like the game and work but you will need to upgrade once you get a feel for what works for you, specifically the grip that you prefer. I would not hesitate buying this for someone who has not played the game and is curious. It is a quality set.

Is this begginers’ kit worth the premium above other kits at same price point with better features?
Let’s get the elephant out of the room first, with $129 you can buy an intermediate level pair of paddles advertised as having medium grit carbon surface and graphite faces, also coming with a carrying case and a couple of balls.I am reviewing the Joola Essentials Kit so i won’t wander into other specific paddle brands/models but to summarize, i think this is a quality kit aimed at control first, if you are just starting on pickleball, or adding a pair of paddles to lend to some friends or family and want them to get properly introduced to the game, this is a safe bet.The paddle is 12mm but doesn’t have the power of a “proper” 12mm, what i mean by that is that the thicker the paddle, depending on how it’s build, the more towards “control” it was envisioned, the thickness, having usually a honeycomb structure inside absorbs some of the energy making it easier to “reset” a play, resetting being the term used to return from high energy hits to the controlled, slower phase of a point. There’s paddle kits advertising “better” features, such as a carbon grit face for spin, but remember that this kit isn’t meant for somebody thinking about spin, but returning the ball successfully above the net and within the limits of the court, that’s the first step you take and these are wonderful for that purpose.Build quality is excellent, and compared to other no brand (or random Chinese name brands) these feel more solid, in comparison to the hollow feeling of cheaper paddles, even the ones advertised towards an intermediate or professional level due to using carbon/graphite or a thicker pad.The “sweet spot” is very forgiving on these paddles, wherever you hit the ball you’ll get a decent response and that’s exactly what somebody who’s just being introduced to the sport needs, a paddle that keeps the game going. The grip and tape is comfortable and in line with their higher end paddles, slightly shorter, but not exactly a big deal, but being a beginner’s kit i would have made the grip just a tad longer so people figure out whatever works for them best.Build quality is what you’d expect from Joola, it is a reputable company with years in the Table Tennis scene and you’ll probably outlast the paddles life cycle as you’ll probably move on to a more advanced paddle before you break these. The included accessories (balls and carrying bag) are a nice addition and of different from the generic Chinese brands, not the square-ish bag and the seamed balls, but a more stylish, with a higher quality zipper and quality balls. All in consideration, while not the cheapest of kits out there, i would say this is one of the most attractive starter kits from a reputable company, will provide the players with control, solid grip and pad size they need to get started and to an intermediate level in the game, they feel great and slightly better than other intermediate level paddles here in Amazon, if you’re looking for a reputable brand, this is it.

Pretty good paddle
The media could not be loaded.
I posted a picture of this paddle compared to similar beginner pickle ball paddles in the same price range. This one (second in the lineup) is tied for first place. I like the light weight yet sturdy feel. This was day one of testing at the fire station and it survived… (many have not) so that says something. It has a little bit of texture but not too much, better than all but the first paddle in this photo lineup. I will update once I see how the durability fairs over time. So far, the value seems fair for the price.
